MAM Hi-Flow Cat Midpipe

What I have found interesting with all my exhaust piecing together is that all the parts match up to the stock pieces. Which is good. But I would have figured larger pipes on aftermarket needed to match up to other larger pipes.

i heard obx isnt bad. ask ken from pg, i think hes sold alot of headers so he could tell u the yays and nays

I have the Ractive header. It fits real close to the oil pan and only has one O2 bung. My second bung is in my MAM midpipe. I extended the wires of my 2nd O2 sensor and installed it in in the midpipe. Its been a couple years now with out a CEL.

Good luck with everything - I hope you like the midpipe. I had no problems with it with the stock exhaust manifold/pre-cat/j-pipe and aftermarket CB. I had to tweak the hangers a little to prevent it from hitting the crossmember but all worked out well enough in the end.

Ok it is all on and working great so far. Took out the springs and then realized I needed to run to home depot to get a bolt 1 1/2 inches shorter. I loosened and pushed up on the catback and midpipe and tightened it and from what I can tell I should be ok with the flexpipe not on the cross member but I might have another look at it in a few days to double check. No noises though. I feel much better about the connection between the header and midpipe without the springs in.

Good to know. FWIW, I wasn't using the spring-bolts either with this midpipe and I'm not currently using any with my CS exhaust.

OK INTERESTING SITUATION!!!!!!

Since I lowered my car and put the midpipe on I am not sure which of the 2 mods is causing the new issue, or maybe both are.

When I am driving down the road and I hit a dip or uneven spot in the road the shocks and springs are fine, but I feel my short shifter "bounce". I feel physical force on it comming up like the shifter would shoot through the roof when the car dips down in a bump. It's more of a rubber band pulling back type motion when the car dips down and when the car pops back up out of the dip it's strong enough to scare my hand off the shifter (which is always rested on the shifter)

It could be the fact that the midpipe is pushing the heatshield into the bottom of the shifter? Well I first installed the CS exhaust I had accidentally bent the heatshield upwards and it was hitting the bottom of the shifter at times.

I cut a section out of the heat shield when I did my short shifter installed. Looks like I will need to jack the car up ONCE AGAIN... gunna get old soon lol. I don't suspect I will see anything but what I am wondering is maybe the shifter needs to be tightened or some thing? I installed it like 2 years ago and can't remember any of the bolts or steps for installing it. I didn't hear any noise when it happened though, just the shifter comming up and punching my hand.

I drove to and from a baseball game tonight... the knocking of the shifter is definatly a problem. I will be looking into when I have time, but I am definatly concerned for what it could be. I hope it's simple, I am tired of troubleshooting crap for simple N/A mods on this tool of a car.
