Maff's STS2 Build

Ah, gotcha. Mine pretty much needs every maintainance (and some non-maintenance) items on the miata check list lol. A lot have been taken care of, but I'm working through the rest slowly. No garage ftl

one friend that works as a tech and another friend that knows miatas and has a garage FTW

that's definately true, but the 1 w/ the garage is an hour away, and I'm trying not to push my 'tech' friend priviledges lol

yeahh...exactly lol. I just need to get the nose in tonight to do the bleed.

Not going to be a problem. The Miata is sadly much smaller than the Civic. We should be able to move around OK. Are we going to make it to bowling tonight?

Probably. It shouldn't take that long. If it does, I've got bigger problems...

speaking of the civic did those front springs work out? i am hoping they adjust themselves into position and dont bind against the shock

Did Muff tell you about our other adventure with them? "We" managed to cross-thread one of the rear bolts and the nut that's welded to the strut, and I had to go buy a new $13 bolt and get the nut retapped.

But we got everything on last night, and it felt good on a test drive. How would I know if it was binding?

Oh, and thanks again for doing that for me.

Alright, got her aligned today (thanks Korey!)

I'm sitting at approx 2.5* camber all around, and I've got 0 toe rear and a smidge (0.1*) of toe on the front. It's nice to be able to drive her w/o having to steer to the left to go straight lol.

Now the fun part: Driving home my clutch hit the floor (and stayed...) twice driving back. On Korey's (Shadow102) suggestion I checked the fluid (I really should have thought of that by myself lmao). 2 observations. 1: It was sitting @ the 'low' mark. 2: The fluid was BLACK and murky. Almost looked thick, it's gross. Anyway, I'm pretty sure that if that's not THE problem, it's definately a major part of it. I'll be bleeding it tomorrow afternoon after work. I'll post impressions afterwards.
i thought you already bled the brakes?

Quit whining...you'll have a garage available that is less than 10 miles away in less than two weeks... :p

awwwww JA you didnt tell me you guys were gonna have a new pet at the new house...what do you feed the little guy?

dont pay attention to todd i know why you made that comment. The protege is an odd duck, its one of the very few cars i have seen to use the brake master cylander for the clutch also. Most cars like the miata have two different fluid circuits. So the clutch has its own master and slave that is completely seperate from the brakes

yeah i heard him telling brian something about a bolt and stuff yesterday i just didnt relize he was talking about you. Just listen to any clunking or also periodically check the front suspension and see if you notice any large amounts of paint rubbed off the shock body that wasnt there previously. Also check to see if the spring is sitting straighter.
