I made a decision and ordered the full shifter package. I cant wait to get it installed. Does anyone have pics of it installed in there MP5? Thanks

i wubs me teamvoodoo knob. $35 well spent.

kartboy's knob feels nice too, i played with protege5lava's. it meets the boot better (you can see the plastic washer is wider than the base of the teamvoodoo knob) but hell, you cant beat just a plain sphere for coolness. its very ferrari-esque

I like the way the bottom of the Kartboy knob fits flush with the stock boot... see?

actually i was investigating making a shifter gate, but alas, it wont work fitting right on top of the console, at least, not with a kartboy knob. there isnt enough space between 1-3-5 or 2-4-R to fit in fingers.

the only solution is to raise it up maybe 1 inch above the console, and im not sure that it will look very good raised up like that.

The problem with a shift gate ala Lambo style is their transmissions are solid mounted. the normal passenger cars have rubbermounts so that we can keep our kidneys and fillings intact.
alas this makes the shift gate almost impossible to implement. one time the transmssion will be over here then next shift it will be whacking the gate grinding gears

i was throwing around the idea in my head about having the shifter gates made out of a flexible plastic, and having it "hug" around the shifter in each of the gates, this might be a way to step around the problem of the lack of space to put the "fingers" between gears and the vibration.

but then again, its plastic, and that wouldnt look very cool would it?

ill just stick with the leather boot.
