I think you can get the AWD from the Ford Escape, you might have to jerry rig some stuff, but it will work.

the escape/tribute drivetrain is the same?? I thought this was a model specfic piece. The escapes are a good bit roomier than the P5. ..I wonder how this works. I'm not looking to jerry-rig anything. I want to buy factory pieces and have a factory look.

I remember asking a Mazda guru a while back in 2002 about AWD and that's what he told me. He really did'nt say anything about jerry riging, but I would suppose you'd have to do it.
