How to replace the brake switch

Hi all,

I'm new in the forum and just want to ask if anyone have experience of changing the brake switch on Mazda5. Does the lower panel need to be detached beforehand? thanks.

Hi, unfortunately you did not indicate year of your car in post or your profile (you may want to update your profile if you want better info)
I could not find the instructions just for the switch but have for the whole pedal on the 2012.
I don't know if they re-designed much if you have the older model.

That would probably depend on how much clearance you think you'll need to futz with the switch. I've never looked under there.

Thanks a lot. I updated my profile. So in order to replace the brake switch, should I remove the column cover? and does anyone can share any information of how to detach the column cover. thanks a lot.

a few screws on the bottom, and pull it off.
