So my heater core is stuffed and I need a new one, is there a diagram available on tips on how to get it out ???.
PS do I need to do anything with the airbags ??.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Took it to a mechanic he said around about 6 hours work $900, I figure I have 2 weeks off work so I will give it a go.

It's actually a 3.5hr job... It's not that difficult... I've had a good amount of success using CLR in the heater core overnight, then flush with a hose. Eventually it'll have to be replaced, but this could buy you some time and get you by with heat this winter. I've done it many times on VW/Audi vehicles where it's a 12+hr job to R&R the heater core to save customers money or buy them time.

Well that's all well and good but my heater core is bypassed, my car got hot and blew a hose and ruined the heater core so I cant flush it, I just want to find out what I need to do to remove it.

PS I just had the seats and the centre console out of it (for cleaning and painting but wasn't sure about removing the steering wheel and airbags, or if I had to do something to them before I attempted doing the heater core.

The dash has got to come out, ergo the SRS components, ie steering wheel module is coming out. Other than disconnecting the battery before doing these repairs, there's not really anything else that you should be aware of. All SRS connectors are yellow.

Why do I need to know what colour the the SRS connectors are if I don't have to do anything with the airbags ???.
I literally said, "The dash has got to come out, ergo the SRS components, ie steering wheel module is coming out." The steering wheel module is your "drivers side airbag" in the steering wheel and while not all of the components themselves are coming out individually, you'll be disconnecting every color. I provided you with the SRS connector color so that you're aware which those are, and assuming you listened to me and disconnecting the battery, you'll avoid having a voltage spike and possibly detonating an airbag.

Ow okay no worries, someone said I had to be carefull and disable the airbags, but if all I have to do it disconnect the battery everything is sweet, I was going to do that anyway, I am doing this tomorrow morning
