Heater Fan noise when its COLD!!

Hi everyone. Just wondering if any one gets this, or if I should be concerned. When my car is very cold and I start it up and turn the heater on. It sounds like the heater fan is making some kind of noise for a while untill the car starts warming up. Im thinking its just a cold belt or something but just wondering what you guys/girls think. Should I have Mazda look at it? Or would that be a waste of time?

I just started getting the same thing a month ago! It sounds like the bearings in the motor are bad, or are going bad. The fan on my soundcard made the same noise, then it seized.

It would probably be a long time before it seized. It will more than likely get louder and louder and more annoying over time.

Take it in when you get a chance. As soon as I have the time, I'm taking mine in. I'm going to push them on the clutch chatter issue too.

What kind of noise is it making...it wouldn't happen to sound like a bicycle tire when you put a playing card in it does it. (i know everyone used to do that when they were kids)

Squeaking whirring noise. I thought maybe it was a leaf or some other piece of the great outdoors stuck in the fan. But its definitely a motor bearing noise. Unless my ears are wrong.

Ok, cool thats what i was wondering. Lot of times people mistake heater fan noise's cause by trash for bearing noises. If it's squealling its more than like bout to lock up from bearing failure.
