Yep, that's right. Got into an accident this morning on the way to work. Thankfully no one was hurt. Was waiting to make a U-turn, and was stopped next to another vehicle. Got waved on by the other vehicle, and just as he waved me on, SMACK!!! got plowed by an altima.
Amazing thing is how durable the p5 really is. The only damage I can see is a bent quarter panel, scratched and maybe bent rim, and a horrible feeling that my baby is destroyed, although it really isn't. Her car BTW lost the whole front bumper, damaged the radiator, and bent the front left rim.
Fortunately, Honolulu Police said their is no fault found in the accident due to where and how it happened, so we are on our own for fixing the damages. I just hope she doesn't try to sue me.
So, now its time for advice, should I even call the insurance company, or should I try to get it fixed on my own? I am thinking that it should be less than $1000 to get it fixed, but who knows without going there. I just don't want my insurance to go up ya know.
Your help is appreciated, and I'll take all advice and opinions into consideration.

Go at it on your own. Your rate will not go up seeing as the police report shows no one at fault. Get at least three different quotes and get the parts needed on your own. car-parts.com seems good. Stay away from dealer auto-body shops! They suck from my past experience.

Glad to hear you are okay. And good luck with everything!

That sucks man and the samething happen a few years ago in my Saturn Wagon. Although he did hit with enough force knock the whole right side off the ground and into the air. My left side speakers were tore out and laying on the right side.

If you have a police report saying it is no ones fault then may as well go with your own money.
But what how much would you have to pay if you went with your insurance?

Might want to take it to a shop and see if anything structurely is damaged, but doesn't sound like you were hit that hard like I was.

Though my insurance did not really go up at all and it was my "fault" supposely even though the guy was going way to fast. Plus he tried to claim injuries blah blah, the ambluance never showed up blah blah blah. Nothing but lies which he could never keep straight.

Sorry to hear that, but glad that your not hurt.

I would fix it on my own just so that I don't have to get the insurance people involved.

me personally, i would go through insurance, thats why you pay it...

besides that, after it is "tore down", there may be some "supplemental damages", which arent visable from the outside...

i have been in two minor accidents, and both times i had insurance handle it. and since yours is a "no fault" accident, they shouldn't raise your rates, too much.

OUCH! sorry to hear man. i take my p5 to JL autobody by kilgos. hes fast and does good quality work, semi-expensive, but i feel he does a good job for the price. um his name is joe, number is 8418818 ask for joe. or u can go to GX auto but mike takes too long haha. well good luck dude and sorry to hear! get a kit now ;) have their insurance pay for it, thats wut i did haha peace - chris

Go through insurance. Not onlt could there be more damage as mentioned, but if she DOES try to sue you (or her insurance company sues you), your insurance will cover the legal costs. They probably wont if you don't report it, as it is a way out for them because you didn't follow procedure, then you would have to sue them to get them to pay.... could get ugly. Worse case senario of course. Then again, nothing may ever come of it.

 :'( all i can say is have some (cheers) and play with some (boobs)

hope you get your car fixed up real quick and back on the road.

once you been in a crash, you never forget the sound of the impact, it ALWAYS sounds the same

Well the quotes are in, $1800 in damage and repairs, not even including the price of my new rim, and getting the graphics redone, as I am waiting on "official" quotes from the manufacturers.
And to think the damage didn't look that bad on the outside. Then, I lifted the hood and realized the panel in the tire well was sitting up by my headlight, my car now pulls a hard left when driving, and I have a 3 inch gouge in my tire. Gotta love the accidents!
Only good news I got was that insurance is only gonna go up by $8/month, which I can live with.

whAO i c. u planning to mod your car since u need new parts? like rims or something or a kit? dawm well good luck man sh*t happens - chris

already got the rims, just need 1 new one now. I am thinking about getting a new front end, leaning towards MintBlue, but haven't decided yet. I may save the money and pay for a drop and some other stuff first, and get mintblue later
