I was reading the FM website to see how the new install was going and caught a line about Chris getting cooler plugs to help with some of the pinging.

How much doe s good set of "cooler" plugs cost ya? I was always under the impression that getting different plugs was more of an N/A mod.

Do I have downsyndrome? :(

yea i wondered about the cooler plug thing too.

about the down syndrome, i really couldn't tell you man. might want to get that looked at. :)

We include colder plugs in our kits. We run 2 ranges colder. If you are interested in the part number I can provide it for you. They are NGK's

I have a post here about these plugs from my Nitrous days. You can also use them for N20.

NGK1283/BKR7E-11

I'm curious to see what you have them gapped at?

Yeah those are the exact plugs we use that Linux posted.
Using colder plugs are for precautionary reasons. An F/Ied or nitroused car runs hotter cylinder temps and pressures that heat up the stock plugs faster. Using colder plugs elliviates this and helps prevent detonation. It is HIGHLY reccomended that you run colder plugs on an F/I and nitrous setup

Hmmm,, well inthat case- I'll get some. Terry- you sell them for the same price that linux posted? :D

The plugs are cool...They had sun glasses on and everything when we took them out of the box.

Nevermind.:p

Gap the plugs to .30 or .35. Yes I have the plugs for sale and in stock. They are 2 dollars a plug plus shipping.

Do the little sunglasses cost more??

:)

I just picked some up from BAP import parts. only $1.75 per plug. Operation: "Try and fix everything" will be undertaken this weekend. If successfull I'll be running at 7.5 psi for a while.

Yeah, I changed my plugs this morning after work in the parking lot at work.:D I must say that I needed new plugs, and the fact that I had 4 extra sitting around from my nitrous days, 2 heat ranges colder was a great thing! My plugs that I took out were kinda worn on the electode. There were no sharp edges left. Nice and rounded off.

Werd! I'm changing mine on Sunday. I don't think I can lose with new plugs, P5 ECU, FM device, and 101 octane gas!!!!! My car is loving me right now... And better yet I hear no ping crackle or knock. It just hurts to pay 50$ every fillup! hehe

Is it bad to maybe have 6 gallons of 101 and 6 of 91?

where the hell are you getting 101 octane gas besides a racetrack? ship me a big drum of it for when i go boosted please :D

Sorry, guys. Just back from SEMA and catching up.

We put NGK ZFR11 plugs in Chris' car - extended reach, heat range 7. That's two steps colder than stock. We've got them on our website on the Miata side. It did seem to help. Gap was set at .35.
