Driver door seal

Hello,

I did not find any information on this - so I am asking for input...

The driver door seal (not on the door - the one on the frame) seems to break around the ketch area. There are 4 Mazda5's where I work (2006 to 2009 model year) and they all have the same damage.

Is this a known issue - are there any TSB's out there for this?

From what I can see, this seal is made out of compressed foam. I believe it should be made in real rubber as it should resist more...

What are your opinions?

They're all cheap garbage on the 5. Instead of it being properly mounted to the car, the seals all have holes that you just stick these little pieces of plastic in to mount them. They seem expendable and designed to fail. I know of no TSB about the junky seals.
