Do you think you can snap a picture?

Damn, I had a feeling someone would ask this, I'll have to jack the car up again to snap it I think. Eh, maybe I can do it with the wheels on the ground, I'll see what I can do tonight.

Hey Guys,

Thought i would check in here. Been absolutly burried at the real job! Things will be this way fo ranother 3 weeks or so. Don't give up th eship on the other run of the kits. As soon as I get through this I should be able to do another run of the brackets and end links.

As far as the KW variant three kit, I was told mine is th eonly one in existance. They did a custom set fo rme in Germany, very cool.

Yea, guys, you have to have the rod ends lined up properly before tightening the jam nuts.

Ping, congrats on the new job! BTW I am considering the cycling event of the Senior Olympics! Been trying to build a base to train from, but very little time to do so.

The three piece bar will be available with the next run of kits.

Hang in there guys, we will get these kits done.

Thanks,

Godspeed!

Here's a pic of what I'm talking about.

If you loosen the bottom nut as shown in the pic, then rotate both ball joints to the right as far as possible(opposite of how they are shown in pic.), then tighten the nut again, since tightening will make the joints want to turn toward the right anyways. When everything is tightened and in place you can grab the endlink in hand and rotate it back and forth to verify there is some room for movement.

If you can imagine each end being turned opposite directions, you can see how there would be no way for the ball joints to move properly and the head of the bolt just tries to jam itself into the joint. (boom02) You can't tell from the pics, but the black plastic or whatever that holds the ball in is worn a bit, nothing serious enough to warrant replacement from the looks of it.

You might be able to file down and round the edges of the bolt head to allow even better movement if you wanted. Make them tapered, shaped more like the bronze colored spacers on the other side of the ball joints. Not sure if that's a good idea though.

So if I understand correctly, loosen the nut, then unscrew the endlink a couple turns , and the retighten the nut ???

No, you're not turning the endlink more than 30 degrees or so. Since you do this while the endlink is in place, you can't possibly turn it more than that anyways. You are adjusting the rotation of the ball joints in relation to each other so that when one of them is in the middle of it's rotation on the ball, the other is also in the middle. When one is rotated all the way to one side, the other is all the way to the same side. I had mine rotated to opposite sides, that causes problems once they are locked tight in place. Does that make sense?

If you are twist the endlink through a few turns, you are adjusting the length of it, you should already have the length to where you want it before this point.

Micaspeed,

I have been looking for a clunk fix for about 4 years. Put me down for your next run for my MP3.

Damn it my stupid suspension is making noises again. This is driving me nuts, why am I the only guy with this problem? I don't think I'll have time to fool with it till this weekend. But I think it is the other endlink now making noise, I guess it the adjusment got shifted somehow because it was fine a week ago. I don't understand why the endlinks have these spacers for one side, but not for the other, it seems like these bolt heads hinder movement a lot. I'd like to get extra spacers for this but I don't know how I would get them.

I am so fu**ing close to burning my car to the ground!!! The clunk is back and getting worse by the minute. I have 92000 kms on my car and I don't think Mazda will cover it!!!!

All you need to do is buy the bushings from the dealer and do it yourself. I don't think that they are thay expensive.

Yeah I know..The thing that pisses me off is that it has been doing this from day one....I have had the bushings replaced 4 times. If Delsing can find a fix why the fudge can't Mazda find one..They probably said "screw it!" "We will replace them a few times and when peoples warranty run out we can make even more money off them!"

I say Let THE MOTHER ****** BURN!!! I go to sleep at night hoping my car will either be a smoldering pile of metal when I wake up or stolen and never recovered again! P.S. the clunk is the least of my worries!

so by creak, do you mean they squeak after a while??

If you're talking about the Delsing kit, then yes it'll squeak after a while - all urethane bushings will (think gym shoes on a clean floor). That's why you want the zerked bushings - 2 shots with the grease gun and you're good to go. 9k miles with no clunk.

Dave: Good luck w/ the senior olympics - I'm taking some great spin classes that are helping with the old cycling muscles... and I do mean "old"....

I know its in here somewhere but cant findit, so can you tell me what type of brushings to get for the Dlesing Kit again..I think they were Energy Suspension but were they Red or Black or Zerked ( dont know if both colors are zerked) and what size should you get... thanks

Oh and where can you get them ( what site)

Summit Racing, they're Energy Suspension, I think 21mm (our rear swaybar size) translates into 13/16" (??) Check previous posts - if I was at home I could go out and check the box in my garage (I have an extra new black set in the right size - I'd sell if anyone wants 'em, or I'll put the new ones on my car and save someone some $$jing and sell my old, jus' fine red ones for $10 shipped in the continental US, heck I'll even wipe 'em down.).

Get the zerked, and black or red doesn't make a noticable difference at all. Do NOT get them too small (19mm is too small), as they'll REALLY squeak then!.

Summit Racing's got 'em, among others - check earlier in this thread for details or do a search as it's posted somewhere.
