Bought coilover sleeves for my ES. Got the rears in somewhat easy. the fronts gave me some trouble.

That metal piece won't let me slide my coilover sleeve all the way down to the plate where my springs sat. The rear ones were different and i tapped them off with a hammer, but these will not budge. And because my coilover sleeves won't slide all the way down, im still left with that much of a gap when they're lowered all the way...Anybody have the answer to this or can help me out?

Flip the strut upsidedown get a hammer and tap it off.
Be sure not to damage the threaded portion on the top of the strut though

Tap it harder. It will come off.
You can either tap it or look for small tack welds and grind off the welds and then tap it off.
No matter where the sleeves came from (ex. ground-control or skunk2) you would still need to remove that metal piece.
