Okay, look. I like you all, I think you all have a great amount of knowledge and we're one hell of a community. HOWEVER, if I see one more person bitching about not being able to beat a SRT-4, I'm going to kill them.

As I've mentioned in other threads, I think many of you have missed the point of what this car is about. I think many of you bought the car because a) it looked cool and b) you thought since it looked cool and it's called a "mazdaspeed" that you'd be able to own everything on the road.

This car is not about living your life a quarter mile at a time.
This car is not about beating other cars in street races.
This car is not about Fast & Furious domestic car killing.
This car is not about getting your friends to ride with you as you hunt for little Civics to wreak havoc upon.
This car is not about bolting on parts without tuning.

If you do not know by now, this car has more to offer you than just a turbo upgrade. That's what this car is about; It's about a complete package, not a straight line marauder.

Mazda consulted with MANY companies in order to make this car happen. A lot of research time and money went in to this car. Again, not to make it a killer on the streets, but to be the most comprehensive package available for around $20k. A suspension that's tuned so well, even other suspension companies wonder how they did it. A stock audio setup which, despite it's turning off for no reason and occasional blown sub, surpasses any other system being offered by a car manufacturer in the same "econobox" area.

Look, I can go on and on about the car and what it has. I did my research. I knew I wanted the car, so I read every possibly thing I could about it. I've read *every* post from the beginning on this board in this Mazdaspeed section. I read reviews out of magazines, reviews on the internet. I even rode with OrangeMSP before I bought the car.

Point is this; I'm tired of a lot of you coming on here and either bitching because you can't beat a SRT-4, or expect us to tell you every possible option you have to up your horsepower, or make fun of the other cars out there. I'm tired of reading posts from people asking how to make this car faster than a SRT-4 because you can't stand being beat by a car with crank windows. Jesus, get the **** over it. Learn what that car has and how it's tuned. Learn from it, not put it down. Quit bitching about how our MSP's can't beat them.

Look at what Mazda has provided us. Granted, there are problems which still linger and are quite annoying. Find a car maker that doesn't have issues with it's first run of cars. If you do find one, I guarantee the car is not in our price range. If it's in your price range, shut the **** up and go buy that car so you can beat SRT-4s. I'm tired of hearing about it.

Next point that I mentioned earlier is quit making fun of the other cars because you can't beat them. Get over it. So what if you can't. Go buy a overly-common and increasingly less attractive Supra and you can beat the oh-so-dreaded SRT-4 but it doesn't have rear windows, so what will you do then?

From what I've gathered about the thread starters who've asked questions about bolt ons and how to beat everything, they don't know s*** about this car. Hell, one didn't even know what to call the piping used with an air filter. I'll take intakes for $100, Alex. Learn about how a car ******* works. Get a clue. Then you can start doing actual tuning and not just bolting on s*** hoping you get a few horsepower out of it, not knowing you just set yourself up for detonation in a year or so. You have no ******* clue what makes this car run, you just want to start getting socket happy, adding on parts and attaching stickers to flaunt that you have a somewhat well-tuned Protege that's now a piece of s*** because YOU are a piece of s*** and don't know what the **** you're getting yourself in to.

Blah, I apologize if I keep looping back to things or if I'm jumping around. However, I am tired of reading negative things about the SRT-4. I thought about getting once since my MSP is having so many problems. Does that make me any lesser of a person? No. Does that change how I feel about the MSP? No. Why? Because I truly understand what this car is about.

I have a few more things to say, but I'm tired so I'll end with this note... Do some research before your bite more than you can chew next time, you little bolt on kiddies. Then you can truly enjoy your car. I'm off to bed.

while i agree with you on most of your points, this is entirely a flamewar waiting to explode. for the 409th time. so , no...sorry...but we're just gonna have to let this die quietly.
