bmw's hands down...ive always been around bmw's 300 series in late 80's 94 m3, 98 m3, 04 645...my fathers cars...pretty much they are nice cars and i love em handle nice, drove the 98 m3 a few times. learned stick on the m3 bwahaha but its nice car. the 645 idk its nice but my dad misses the porsche, he leased a 996 and loves it but too harsh for nyc roads since he commutes. anyways BMW BITCHES

For the lower models I'll take the bimmer. For the higher the benz. The SL65 AMG and SLR is just amazing. 700+ lb/ft of torque is awesome.

I've driven my bosses AMG S55 around a bit.. but I'd take an M3 or M5 over it anyday... more of a driver's car

my dad leased a 99 porsche 911 cause he got the porsche bug and well after the lease he wanted a "less harsher ride" cause he drives to nyc daily...i told him "**** that get what you want and its the new porsche" BUT he got the 645 instead and well its a love/hate thing...from what he tells me hes thinking of getting something else going through many an option but that could be just bs to tease me or its just that he isnt sure.

on a side note something i like about BMW, unsure if merc does this but they have sport drives. like my dad got this thing for his 600 series that him and another person can beat on 600's on a track for a weekend. they teach you racing techniques and you go out and race them i guess. all you have to pay for is transportation there i beleive and accomodations. so im going sometime with him to do that, hopefully. but i almost went to something similar(sp? too lazy to check) but for the new X3 time confliction didnt allow it. but its something i like about BMW's. i just love the m3's though...

um the porsche was incredible ride...push feeling instead of pull which was great...the car was lowered to euro standards so it was incredibly low, pos and negative there. i wish he would have gotten another porsche but oh well :( not my choice

this has been more ranting and my 2 cents enjoy :)

I like it guys, keep it coming(is withholding comments to prevent any impartiality, though my vote says it all)

I vote BMW.. they seem like a more "fun" car to drive. But I'll give credit to Mercedes, they make some fast ass automatics.

Think the new SLK, new ML, CLR and SL55~ and then the Z4, X3. 5-series and 7-series.
My vote goes to the Merc.

benz is more for the executive bussiness man, while bmw is for the executive business man that still has a life and has fun

i would say benz is more for the executive business man who enjoys being rich, while bmw is for the executive business man trying to buy back the youth he squandered. ;)

however, i think they are both good cars. M3 engine rocks us all, and an S-Class is about as comfortable as a car gets. but i personally don't think either is really worth the money. if i was filthy rich (as opposed to just plain filthy), i'd just take a modest luxury car (oxymoron, i know) like a Acura 3.2TL and have a sports car like an S2000 or 350Z or something like that.

Maybe build a hayabusa powered Super 7...i dunno. as far as dream cars go, there are so many before a BMW or MBZ.

I'm all for BMW, they are like the German Mazda, in terms of road feel, handling, *most* design cues. Almost everyone of their cars can be had in a stick IIRC

BMW for me. I have lived overseas for many of my driving years. I've been behind the wheel of BMWs and a few AMG Mercedes. I have always liked the BMWs more.

i have a 1965 mercedes 190 D. thing is beautifully detailed, runs great, and is more reliable than my dads passat or fx35 lol

Yeah, my buddy has a 300C widebody that has probably 300k+ miles on it. I'm a little biased because I always kick around his dad's porsche/mercedes race shop. I'm just not a BMW fan. Overhyped and overpriced. I'd rather have an audi.
