Benefit of MAF relocation

Probally the biggest benefit I have found for relocating the MAF happened today. I was driving to get an alignment and realized I could barely enter into boost and my BOV wasn't doing anything....... So about 2 miles later I pulled into a gas station thinking I blew the vacuum line off the BOV or something like that, Nope....... My hot pipe came off the tubo, ok no big deal I thought as I went to grab my 7/16th wrench to fix this issue. Found out my dumbass self never put it back into my glovebox. So I drove 15 more miles with no issue other than driving a NA 2.0 again. If the MAF was not relocated my car would have barely ran.......

Just figured I would share

It's always the little things that save the day. Like chewing gum for example. If you have a pinch hole in your upper radiator hose, chew some gum and slap it on. It'll hold the leak for a few miles, lol. I've seen it happen lol

LOL, true........the little things tend to bite me alot!

I learned b4 I relocated the MAF........I blew a pipe w/o tools and my car would barely run, I had to call a friend for tools......Hence why I normally carry enough tools to fix these issues I just forgot to put it back after the last time I used it in my garage!!

Yea and little stuff like that always bites us in the butt. How many times I wanted to do something only realizing that a specific tool that I need didn't make it into my tool bag and is laying around my mechanic's shop lol.

Having a relocated maf will not save you if you blow the cold pipe at the throttle body.... With a relocated maf you risk over spining the turbo if your one to beat on it to try and get into boost as ALL the exhaust gases are going through the turbo. As if the maf isnt relocated you would know right away but both setups have pro's and con's
