AC is dead

Hey guys,
My miata has no AC. It only starts to blow when I turn the fan all the way on 4 it starts to come out, but nothing until then. This is the same for cold air and hot air. Any ideas? How can I fix this. btw, its a 92.

There's probably an issue with the switch in there (the rotory one). I've heard of some other Mazdas (older ones) that had the same problem. I also vaguly remember an issue with a connector at the blower, you may want to check to see if it's loose.

do you have a heater resister? - my protege did exactly that and it was the resister in the fan box - just behind the glove box

Cool. At least it wasn't anything too complicated. Did you do the repair yourself?

Not yet, Its at the shop right now. All my money is tied up in my friends 300ZX that was recently wrecked. Once thats paid for, its next on my list. I will be doing the work with my mechanic. Gosh, it pays to have knowledgable friends. THanks guys,
