So - the deed is done!!! (yippy)
The third of Calgary's three Mazda dealers (Kramer Mazda for any Calgarians out there) had the magic we were looking for... an honest, straight forward, friendly guy who sells cars for a living as opposed to a "salesman"... a sales manager who didn't act like he was trying to win a fight... a business manager who cheerfully walked us through the accounting process accepting our "nos" to his upsell attempts without too much fuss and was actually able to get us better financing (shockingly) that what I had arranged previously.
At the end of the day (literally - it was about 45 minutes after the dealership closed) we completed the transaction and will be driving our new 2004 Mazda3 Sport GT automatic (loaded except leather interior) in titanium grey metallic off the lot Monday evening (yes, they even had the unit we wanted in stock on the lot).
We paid a fair price (using X-plan) and even got a solid net value for our trade after factoring the GST credit. WOW!!! A dealership experience where we didn't leave feeling beat up. There is hope for humanity after all! (cool)
Thanks Wongpres and Mazda3 for your insight on my earlier post.
