It's 48 hp was almost too much for me to handle....I miss the gas mileage I got out of it..and the 12" wheels. I would have kept it had I had more room.
I went through 3 trannys & 1 or 2 engine rebuilds. The car was probably in the shop for 6 months out of the 3 years or so that I owned it. I thought about the fact that when I got the MSP, I would be getting another FS-DE, but I think I made the right decision.
1982 Vovlo 240 DL. Dark green. The car was only one year younger than I.
I called her "Ol' Betsy"
That car was a POS and constantly needed repairs, with only about 100k on it.
Everyone who saw me with that car would say "Oh yeah, Volvo's last forever!", and I'd always reply "Oh really, which part would that be?"
First Gen Geo Tracker... I ragged the **** out of that car.. had a single 12" Treo in it too, the car basically transformed into a bandpass box on wheels, it was crazy..
1987 Chevy Celebrity, baby blue...this thing was America's finest..I got rear-ended twice and t-boned once, and this thing barely dented...it was great..the seats felt like you were sitting on a couch...my friend worked at Radio Shack and hooked me up with a free CD Player, and that was the only mod i did to it...but it had power doors and cruise control, which is more than i can say for my protege...but i really miss that b****..
I'm probably older than many people on this forum. I graduated high school in 1990. My first car when I was 17 was a 1977 Toyota Corolla WAGON. Yea, I had to beat the women off of that Pimp-mobile. Despite it's obvious ugliness, it ran pretty well, never left my stranded, and had a really cold a/c.
First car I bought was a 1980 Mustang 2.3L for 100 bucks. First car that was my daily driver was a 79 Lincoln versailles with a done up 302. That car was FAST. Outran a 3rd gen RX-7 and a Formula 350 Firebird on the highway with it.
