Yellow tint on headlights?

Has anyone put yellow tint on their headlights?
I always thought they look cool and I think it would pair well with the dark gray paint.

Only concerns I have is reducing visibility or them looking bad...

Thoughts?

Yellowing plastic isn't a good look, IMO. It makes the car look like the headlights need to be polished or replaced.

Don't. Just, don't. Your headlights are arguably the second most important safety system on your car after your brakes. Don't mess with them.

I wouldn't recommend it. Adding a layer of tint to the headlight lens will block some of the output and reduce the effectiveness of the lighting. How much, I don't know.. it probably depends on the quality and color of the film. Keep in mind that a darker yellow reduces output much more than a lighter yellow, which is less likely to affect output, but also makes the lenses look like they've been yellowed by sunlight exposure.

More importantly, what are your local laws regarding tinted headlamps (if there are any)? Yellow lenses/lighting will be very easy for cops to spot, which could make you an easy target for a ticket.

My only experience with yellow tint on lighting is from adding like 3 layers of yellow tint to my fog light lenses. I didn't mind doing this because my fog lights might as well be cosmetic, but I only had the tint on for a year. I found a couple of old pictures and attached them below. You can really see the difference in light intensity, and IMO the yellow is still too "pale" looking even with 3 layers of tint.

I can attest to 3 layer of tint to achieve the yellow output because that's what I did to my fog too.

Yellow film on headlights. This falls under the same category as blacking out your taillights. Unsafe! Why risk the safety of your family/children and other families.
