You won't be getting 24mpg if you're hitting boost all the time.
IMO, what's the point of turbo'ing a daily driver if you are concerned about gas prices? Going FI means premium gas. It also means if you want good MPG, you gotta stay below 3k rpm's. So you'll rarely be hitting boost.
My car's an automatic, but with a header, pulley, and catback exhaust, it feels so much better than stock, and yet still takes regular gas and gets good mileage because I don't feel like I have to go into the higher RPM's to make decent power.
Don't get me wrong, I've always had a big smile on my face when I've gone for rides in turbo p5's and msp's. But I used to own a Trans Am, and I know what that kind of power is like as a daily driver. Great to have, but I fully used its 310 hp about 5% of the time I drove it. The difference is that the Trans Am makes that power stock from the factory. I've seen lots of threads about people screwing up their cars because of the turbo. I do see you're being smart and taking precautions, though!
But the point I think a lot of people have been making is that it looks like you're sinking just under 10k into your car. The car itself is probably worth 10k. People have tried selling their modified cars for more, arguing that modification = more value. For most people, it doesn't.
You might wanna consider upgrading the brakes as well - going faster means you'll be using the brakes more in traffic, too...
Anyways, good luck with the car. I'll be keeping an eye on your progress as well as the others.
