Mazda Speed Protege
Does any one have any ideas for mods or anything for the msp if so plz post what it is and price

well i dont want to tell you how to mod your car cause ill have you spending thousands lol
but what would you like to get from your mods?
maybe some speed?
or some blow off sounds?
maybe want to make the temp in the engine bay drop some by adding a fmic
its what you want to do. so tell us so we can help you.

btw, yellows my fav! just totaled mine last month, was a fun ass ride! in and out the car lol (msp owners know what i mean)

ok well i hate to break it to you but your going to have to have some motor work done (forged rods, pistons) before you can up the boost.
id suggest a cold air intake first and a do it your self inter cooler.
the car isnt set up for high boost.
you basically have a regular protege with a turbo kit lol mazda didnt build this car to good in the motor dep.

i already have a cold air intake and what do u mean by a do it your sel intercooler because mine already has a intercooler also

a front mounted one (FMIC)
if you have a stock one it heat soaks the turbo and kills performance.
so id upgrade the intercooler as my first mod.
what do you have done as in mods to the car?

yea didnt the stock intercooler front mounted? because i just bouht my msp dont know all the mods i am running 13 psi turbo and front intercooler with a cold ait intake and i have a feeling thhere is forged pistons should i upgrade the injectors?

man id find out if it is forged or not dont want to go zoom zoom boom
and im not to sure.
could you take a pic of your engine bay for us?

really i dont know i just got the car and it was all ready all tuned up and im goin to have to look at it all

man im begging you to turn the boost to 7psi before you blow it up.
you need to research what you BOUGHT and read a little man cause if not your in for a headache.
and i bet its your daily driver car too?

im just trying to help you out.
if i was you id ask if the car was on these forums, and get his username can find alot out about the car this way.
id call the guy you got the car from and ask if its got a forged motor in it. ask if he built it if he dont know you basically have 2 options if its not forged. #1 turn boost to 7psi and keep it at that till you build your motor. #2 tear into the fsde motor and look at your pistons and rods (take some pics) so we can tell you if its been forged or not.

the guy hafd it set at that and yes it is my daily driver the guy did alot to it i have put many cars to shame with it do you really think i would have to worry abou the turbo?

i didnt say anything about the turbo man.
im not worried about your turbo.
im worried your a kid thats bought his first turbod car and is racing it having fun we all do it time to time
but im MORE worried about your MOTOR and the stock msp motor can only hold 7psi and 10psi full bolt ons (id stay at 7psi till forged)
i just dont want you to have spent all your money buying the car and not have any to repare it when you destroy the motor if its not forged like i did with my msp. but mine blew up at 7psi so see where running 13 psi on stock motor isnt to smart. its a ticking time bomb your driving.

first off, if you have the stock side mounted intercooler, the intercooler itself will heatsoak very quickly because of the placement and size, not the turbo. The stock intercooler is mounted right beside the radiator. You won't know if you have a built motor unless you do a slight teardown. As far as mods go, it depends on how much power you are looking for. Any bolt ons will do wonders on this car along with suspension upgrades. Although, I do agree with turning the boost down to play it safe until you have supporting mods and tuning and maybe confirmation on said mods that you have already. On any turbocharged platform the first mod should be an exhaust, not an intercooler. Especially since you already have an intake. But anyway, maybe some aftermarket motor mounts if you don't have them already. Hopefully that 13 psi is not a bad wastegate actuator unless......the car is using a unichip with that "built in 13 psi spike". I could go on and on about this car and Im pretty sure others can too. But you have to start somewhere. Just start off with basic bolt ons, TUNING, and maybe some suspension upgrades. You will be surprised at how basic mods will change how this car performs.
