XelderX's T25 Pro5 thread

Let the games begin. The intercooler and turbo manifold showed up today. I'll be mounting the intercooler tomorrow. It fits almost too perfectly right under the bumper support. I should be able to connect two right angle couplers to either side and go right beside the radiator. Once I get the turbo cleaned up I'll mount it to the manifold and get it all in the car. Then I can see what has to be done with the piping to get it all connected.

Pictures coming tomorrow.

I've got a bandsaw to handle the pipe cutting. Makes it simple. I just want to make sure I got the BOV placement correct. Hot Pipe is referring to the pipe between the turbo and intercooler? If so I should have plenty of room there since the A/C is gone.

Yes. The Closer to the turbo the better.

I got the intercooler mounted today. It needs to be shifted over just a hair. The back of the bumper support isn't perfectly flat and the ripples pulled the brackets a little crooked when I tightened them down. I'm waiting on a gasket so I can mount the turbo in the car and start figuring out my piping. I'm also considering replacing the power steering cooling loop with an actual radiator style cooler that I can mount out of the way. That way I can run soft hose all the way to the cooler instead of the hard lines like it is now.

Sweet. That cooling loop is annoying, I just unbolted mine and pushed it back. I hope my bumper fits back on (ughdance)

That's the one.

Why in the world did you pull out your headlights?

Yeah, that PS cooling loop as been a thorn in my side for years. I bent the hell out of it to get it out of the way. The guys with the Wagner kits used to remove them. That didn't pan out so well in the long run.

looking great so far. How may WHP are you aiming to?

Right now I will only have whatever the T25 puts out with the ATP 6psi wastegate which I believe puts it around 8lbs of boost. I've got a large port job on my head and intake manifold so I'm not really sure what she will put out.

It made it easier to remove the bumper support so I could mount the IC on it. I needed to mount some brackets to the back of it.

What about the extra fuel you'll need are you going FMU? or is the msp computer enough, and I read the msp also has bigger fuel pump, is that needed on stock 6psi setups?

MSP ECU for me. I'm not sure about the MSP fuel pump being bigger. The stock Protege pump seems to work good enough for stock MSP boost setups.

Well.....I'm having a bad night. I went to bolt up my turbo to the motor and discover that the turbo manifold is not a MSP manifold. There is no EGR bung, no O2 sensor bung. 2 of the studs were broken and one wasn't even the right size, but that's kind of moot at the moment.

Oh man that sucks, no wonder the bastard wouldn't fit. Is it at least the right turbo on it?

yea...turbo and S-pipe are both MSP stock. That's why I didn't think to check the manifold closer until I went to bolt it up. I didn't even pull it out of it's shipping packaging until tonight.

That suck's about the manifold the msp one should have callaway on it like the s-pipe, post pics of the one you got maybe someone can identify it so you can resell it or something. Why does the ATP wastegate at 6psi give msp 8 psi?
