XelderX's Intake Porting

Ok so it reads both sensors, but does my MIL eliminator effect the way the ECU gives fuel. I don't think it would effect it enough to create drastic changes in the ECU's fuel delivery....I'm just trying to understand what the ECU is doing.

in my experience the MIL eliminator on your second o2 sensor will not affect how the car is tuned

justin, where are you with this project?

Ditto. Also, anyone know if that company Matty mentioned (Extrude Hone) is still around? Their website seems to be unavailable now (maybe just my computer).

The car is almost ready to roll. I have to go pick up my header and install it tonight. Thats the last piece keeping the car from running. I might have the car dynoed next week if I get enough break in miles on it this weekend.

Ported and polished (also removed VTCS) this winter, does make a difference. Car used to top out on the one road at 160KPH before I had to start braking. Now it pulls WAY harder i nthe upper ranges of the tach, and I can get up to 175-180 before braking. 20KPH is a big difference to me.

I've got the car running again and took it racing last weekend. It pulls much harder above 4500 than it ever did before. The 4-2-1 header is surely adding to some of that. I still need to get some more miles on it before I dyno. She's burning a lot of oil right now due to what I'm guessing is worn valve seals. I'm not really worried about it right now and I'm just keeping a close eye on my oil level. I'll be updating my "Street Prepared Build" thread with dyno #'s and such when I get them. I still have a slight stumble in the midrange that goes away at WOT. I'll find out on the dyno if it's a fuel problem.

Yeah, please post once you find out what it is; My car has been having the same issue, only just recently. I may go to the dyno sooner than later to try and figure it out. Does it happen to you in a certain rev range?

I'm having same stumble issue. Is your car okay when driving it cold? (When VTCS is supposed to be active?)

Mine is perfectly fine. I have the MP3 ECU, though, so it has no idea what the hell VTCS is. Hehee. My stumble seems to happen when the car at mid-high throttle right before or around 3500, but it's inconsistant.

However, I think I found my problem. Hehe. Time for some new plugs, I'm willing to bet. Which is weird, since I usually stay on top of changing the plugs.

My car stumbles a little in the cold:( Also I do have the MP3 ECU. But it does pull pretty hard and I have taken it to 115mph.

160?.. wow, i had my car up to 215 the other day. and all i have right now are intake and axelback.

so, if i were to take the weekend and remove the VTCS, what are the benifets? would i see a noticeable power gain?
im trying to pop off as many do it at home yourself mods as i can :D

before braking - i guess he runs out of road on his private test track ;)

ps - feels much better to be able to redline 5th ;) you can work out the speed...

I've been faster, but I ran out of road. It's thei one road that's like pretty much exactly a mile, so I come right to a stop, and hit it, then at this set of mailboxes I start braking. At that point I used to only be goin 160, but after the manifold thing, I can get to like 175 now.

well, cant hurt my car i guess. the mp3 and jspec motors dont have VTCS.. time to start reading/plotting my mode of attack!

thats cool :D

i was getting worried that was your top end lol

I'm bringing this one back from the dead. I was just reading through it and thought it would be a good idea to update my experience on this after a year and a half. I'm still running the same setup as this thread describes and I finally got HP #'s out of my setup. On a Mustang dyno I put down 127whp. CAI, 4-2-1 header, hi-flo cat, UDP, Fidanza flywheel, MP3 ECU. Those are the only other power modifications on the car. As far as I can tell that is #1 or #2 on the most WHP list of N/A FS motors with stock internals and ECU. For all the people telling me I was doing it wrong...(glare)

I've had a rough week...just wanted to toot my own horn a little.

Nice, Good job!

I have a spare intake manifold I plan on porting well, But i wish I had a spare head. How much would that run?
