XelderX's BG FSP Build

As far as I can tell...the wiring is done. I hooked up a battery today and there is some life in this thing. The ECU turns on and I have spark which means the crank position sensor is working. The car will turn over so the starting circuit is all good. The gas tank is bone dry right now so I'm not sure if the injectors are firing. I didn't play with it too much. I'll put some gas in the tank tomorrow and see of the fuel pump primes. I didn't hear it turn on today, but I haven't really looked at the ECU settings to see if it's sending a signal to the pump. I need to buy an O2 sensor, but other than that the hard part is done. If I can get the car to idle tomorrow I will be in the home stretch of finishing her up.

Email sent with some setting suggestions. Give me a call, I'll be around all day Sunday.

It's a busy week for me away from the car so not much going on. The car should be going to the exhaust shop early next week to install the cat and muffler. I need to finish the rear brakes as well. Other than that it's just a matter of getting the ECU working and buying some tires/front wheels and she is ready for testing.

The radiator is partially in the car (just need a few rubber grommets to secure it) and the rear brakes should be finished tomorrow. I got the ECU back from Atlanta and tried it again tonight. Fail #2. No signal coming out of it. Something in the wiring appears to be killing the ECU. My laptop won't connect to it for me to even see what is going on.

damn, that sucks dude :(

On a plus, it was good actually meeting you for a couple minutes this weekend ;)

It was good meeting you too. I wish I could have stayed and made a weekend out of it. I had to come home and get some work done on the Protege. The radiator and rear brakes are now installed. I'll need to bleed the brakes tomorrow and the car will be at the exhaust shop on Thursday. I hope to narrow down my ECU problem tomorrow.

I spy a Miata motor.

Again, those rotors rock. I'll be interested to see how they perform.

haven't you essentially removed 50% of the braking surface? How well would those work?

And isn't the rule that may or may not come into play state that only 10% could be removed, or is that only for Street Touring?

they'll work just fine at stopping the car; they would just fade a lot sooner, but that's not an issue here. and i don't think that's nearly 50%.

Yep, with the worst case of crank walk I've ever seen. The woodruff key is seriously 90 degrees from where it is supposed to be.

HEH HEH...sounds like a case of the yata's!
As in when mine regurgitated its innards.
