As far as I can tell...the wiring is done. I hooked up a battery today and there is some life in this thing. The ECU turns on and I have spark which means the crank position sensor is working. The car will turn over so the starting circuit is all good. The gas tank is bone dry right now so I'm not sure if the injectors are firing. I didn't play with it too much. I'll put some gas in the tank tomorrow and see of the fuel pump primes. I didn't hear it turn on today, but I haven't really looked at the ECU settings to see if it's sending a signal to the pump. I need to buy an O2 sensor, but other than that the hard part is done. If I can get the car to idle tomorrow I will be in the home stretch of finishing her up.
On a plus, it was good actually meeting you for a couple minutes this weekend![]()
I spy a Miata motor.
haven't you essentially removed 50% of the braking surface? How well would those work?
Yep, with the worst case of crank walk I've ever seen. The woodruff key is seriously 90 degrees from where it is supposed to be.
Miata's crank walk? I never knew that. Hmmm, second guessing buying one now.
and that overblown problem aside, the miata engine is pretty much as indestructible as internal combustion automobile engines get.the crank pulley on badly maintained 90-91.5s has a tendency of falling off, it's not really crank walk.
