XEDE Engine Management System Available Soon!!!

the car will not throw check engine lights and will therefore be emissions legal pretty much anywhere. once it is plug and play it is possible to swap in and out with ease. wired in we can set it up for you to be as easily removable with about 20 more minutes of work.

Not trying to screw things up or bash the XEDE but my car does not run without it due to the larger injectors. I have a constant CEL and it flashes.

But, I can't complain since I like it and I enjoy it when people say "ZOMG YOUR CEL IS ON AND ITS FLASHING!" then I get to tell them how cool I am with a EMS.

Can't do injectors in the MS6 or fuel pump upgrades to do direct port injection and 1600 PSI...
:D
Had the same conversation with Stephanie on Friday due to fuel concerns with the ATP setup

The Xede does not have a CARB EO. Almost all products / vendors have a disclaimer "Not for street use in CA" for CARB reasons.

The MSM CEL is different for a variety of reasons - the stock boost solenoid is re-wired as is the throttle position sensor. The MS3 ECU is "smart" enought that these mods are not needed.

thanks to the direct injection setup on these cars, different fuel injectors are not only unneeded, but not readily available either.

so when will the plug n play xede be ready for the ms3? also does the xede come proloaded with maps to get you to the 290 whp? is that map based on certain mods? cant wait for this mod.......

hm.. hard updating two threads.

BEGi is hoping to have the harnesses in by mid to end january. As of right now, the first sets going out will be hard wired.

the base map that comes loaded on the XEDE is for a totally stock mazdaspeed 3 and should put you at 288whp and 315tq

so will they be an option for a map for those that have an intake, exhaust, and the upgraded top mount? or will they just have to use the base map?

You can go in with a laptop and tune it to your hearts extent. Of course, there will be techsupport almost around the clock once I get mine. :)

as far as I know, yes. there will be more maps as it gets out there though.. look at all the support for the msp..

tuning

will the tuning be the same as say the airflow logistics afc for the msp? this being that maps can be downloaded off the site or something and they can be sent from person to person with the ease of an email? any cable or specifications you'll need on the laptop to tune it? lol i wanna get ready! (first)

no, its also a little more involved than that in the sense that the DSM AFC is fuel only.

Yep. You can e-mail/download these all day long and as much as you want. However, you must have the Xede software to read it.

Serial cable. OR Serial / USB adapter from a store like Radio Shack.

stephanie at bell engineering just called me with some new details including price; $999 for the mazdaspeed3 and mazdaspeed6 models

I guess that is the price until there is some competition.(shady)

are there any other tuning ecu's out there at this point for the car? no offense to the xede ems, its an awesome tuning device and numbers seem awesome, but i wanted to compare. i tried searching for others but came up short. thanks for help.

Coming Soon! MazdaSpeed3 Xede Dyno tested at 288 fwhp and 310 pound feet of torque!

The XEDE (pronounced "x-ceed") is the only user-programmable engine control system that works with the factory ECU for great performance and near perfect driveability. Every one of its functions has the resolution and flexibility to complement all factory ECU functions. The XEDE carries the tuning torch without inducing any compromise to performance or safety.

The XEDE is the most user friendly engine management available! The XEDE comes pre-programmed for your application.

How does the XEDE work?
It is wired into a wire harness that plugs into the stock ECU. It intercepts signals to the ECU. For example, by intercepting the crank signal, the XEDE can advance or retard timing. By intercepting the load signal, the XEDE can make fuel mixtures richer or leaner. It remains under closed loop during idle, and goes open loop under boost. The MazdaSpeed Miata (MSM) XEDE also allows the user to control the boost levels.

Practical Information...
What is more practical than get in and drive? Forget tuning the car every time you drive it or the weather changes. Short of getting struck by lightening, the XEDE won't fail. It will be the most reliable piece of hardware on your car.
