XEDE Engine Management System Available Soon!!!

The XEDE also has a two-step launch and no-lift shift capabilities. Hold down the clutch for 3 seconds and the launch map kicks in, also if you are WOT and blip the clutch to shift it won't fuel cut.
I can't wait to see my 60's with 8-10 lbs of boost... :)

Could you explain what the hell that means and how it works?

Sorry man, I couldn't get any more descriptive than that. That breaks down exactly what each thing means....
:)

This is great news. Not sure how I missed this one, being on vacation and all I guess.

I did have the accessport at the top of my list in the distant future but this makes me think twice. Nice job Ken!

how many wires will have to be tapped into for this system? im not too fond of hacking up s*** with only having 500 miles on my car. plus i don't think the warranty will like it much and even if its taken out when being serviced you still have the wires that have already been hacked up (just reconnected) which anyone could see if they look. so unless someone can enlighten me and hopefully say im wrong lol, i have to go with the accessport...which may not bring out as much power or have as many options..but a lot easier to install and take out and not have nosie service people knowing about it.

I'm not sure where the ECU is on the 3, but on the Protege it was under a metal kick panel in the passenger floorboard. If it's in the same or a similar position, being afraid that the dealer would find out that the system is there is nothing short of pure paranoia. Getting to it was a serious pain in the ass, so unless they have a reason to believe the ECU has been tampered with, believe me, the secret is safe.

yikes, that looks like a LOT more than 8 wires.

also, that wedges between the battery box and the air box? If we have an aftermarket intake then it's just kinda occupying that open area? I may have to fab up some sort of holding box just to hid the unit and wires.

Thats just where they put it. You can put it wherever you want.

:)

Isn't our ECU under the drivers seat?

Yep.....I looked and it looks like crap....I will half to take rain check until they come out with the plug n play. What effect will it have on the car if you use the map that comes with the XE if you have a cold air intake and a turboback exhaust(with a cat)? In other words will it just add to the already 280 or so horsepower or will it have some sort of adverse affect. (like bad AFR and lower HP)?

Um.. You can always wrap the wires and place the XEDE unit wherever you want. Its all about how much work you put into it. :(

The photo was taken before wires were bundled together. Sorry if it does not look all that appealing in that photo. However, when the Speed6 gets here for tuning, we will see what we can do.

It is eight signal wires, not including the extra for the dual map banks. There are two Xede wires for every wire cut on the ECU. An incoming wire and an outgoing wire.

The speed6's ECU is under the dash on the drivers side above the left kick panel. It looks like a PITA to work on, but it should be worth it. Any screen shots of the tuning SW?

the 288whp map used for the dyno was a very conservative map. for something like an intake and exhaust you should still fall into the safe range and make more power on top of that 288. the best way to do this is to have the XEDE tuned to your particular mods - this can be done on the road either real time or through datalogging as well being done on a dyno by a shop. the more variety of vehicles we have use this unit, the more maps we will have at our disposal. meaning we will be able to ship units with base maps for the mods they have installed on thier cars as more people try this system out.

WHEN IS THE XEDE GOING TO BE AVAILABLE SIR? I HAD THE XEDE ON MY EVO VIII THAT I PURCHASED FROM VISHNU. I WAS VERY HAPPY WITH THE RESULTS AND HOW EASY I COULD FLASH DIFFERENT BASE MAPS DEPENDING ON WHAT OCTANE I FELT LIKE USING AT THE TIME. I THINK THE POTENTIAL OF THIS VEHICLE WILL BE A LITTLE BETTER. DISI IS REALLY MAKING THE MS6 QUITE A TORQY S.O.B. AND REALIABLE AT THE SAME TIME. I CURRENTLY HAVE A MAGNAFLOW CATBACK EXHAUST THAT I JUST LOVE, AND PLAN ON GETTING THE ATP DOWNPIPE WHEN THEY RELEASE THE CEL MODULE TO CORRECT NO CAT. AFTER DRIVING AN EVO FOR A LONG TIME, AND RUNNING MID/HIGH 12'S WITH IT AS A DAILY DRIVER, THE MS6 FEELS ALMOST THERE. JUST MISSING SOME MODERATE TO AGGRESSIVE MAPPING.

When will the harness be available and how much more will it cost? For a $1,0000 it should be pretty damn cheap if not free. Im sure that there is enough of a profit margin in there that it could be included right?
