whats the point then? the aluminum hood on the miata weighs pretty much the same as a CF one.

you would really pay the $$ just to have some ducts for your hood? seems pointless to me.

Yes, I know about the weight difference, I've only been told be everyone in the world once a mention of a hood comes up. If I really cared about a few extra lbs, I wouldn't have bought XXRs.

Heat extraction is pretty nice to have, especially on turbo cars.

Either hood is too busy imo. The cf trunk looks good, but I'd paint match it. Personally I'd wait for more performance mods before doing something like flares, otherwise it's just for looks, but that's me. Your Miata looks very clean (uncluttered) at this point, and I'd strive to keep it that way.

Yeah, the heat extraction would be the biggest benefit to having one of those hoods. It's amazing how much heat can be generated in there.

That last Miata is awesome. Flares, the GV tails and a hardtop would be so sick looking, and of course with some wicked low offset wheels. I'd stuff some seriously fat rubber under there if I had flares like those.
