after I swapped motors(rebuilt) I thought the manifold had cracked but once I removed the turbo, I seen that the thing that sent me to the miata wasn't a cracked manifold but 3 missing bolts holding the turbo to the manifold. But problem wise, I never had any direct issues with the turbo. I didn't boost long enough to gain any. Considering the better build of the BP and higher psi/whp it can put out without being in danger, I'm sure this time around I will not have to worry about it long as I stick with my original 200whp goal.

I noticed I get doubled posted in here a lot too, its getting sooooooo old x_x

woh, never new you found out it wasnt the manifold, but 3 MISSING bolts holding the turbo TO the manifold??!?
holy crap... chalk that up to not torqued enough? no locktight used? or just SOL bad luck.
 
They were torqued for sure, and I didn't use locktight cuz many told me if I did, I'd have hell to pay when it came to take them off. Just SOL bad luck I guess.. I'm happy I moved on anyway so all for the best I suppose lol

Why such a big turbo? It'll only be fun for a thousand rpm's

Not so much... GT2860rs really isn't that big of a turbo. Should spool by 3500 rpms I would guess. Don't know a ton about the BP motor, but there should be plenty of useable powerband. Silly slammed kids. ;)

As I've gathered, the 28rs seems to be the most favored turbo of the boosted miatas. It kicks in a lot sooner than people think.

So talking to Steph @ BEGi got me thinking of getting 440cc injectors before turbo install as well. She was telling me the stocks are only good til about 190whp, and the kit is rated at 190whp-270whp(depending on boost level and EMS) but with the megasquirt/goodtune, 3" exhaust and a potato, I'm thinking I'm gonna cross 200.

Any objections?

I'm running 550's with a Hydra Nemesis, IHI VJ35, 3" exhaust. You can get the 550's from Flyin Miata.
 
After reading up on it, I'm gonna get denso 450cc which will be perfect. 550cc are more for 250whp+, they can be used at lower levels but I'll probably have to upgrade my fuel pump which I don't feel like. lol.
 
The power levels he's looking for is the same as what I'm supposed to be at.

Currently got my stage 2 clutch, light weight flywheel, ss line and etc laying around to get installed and I got my BEGi S3 GT28rs turbo kit being fabbed up right now and hope to have it in a couple of weeks :D
