WTF is wrong with my heater?

Something happened to my center area where the radio is stored, and I have no idea whats up. I popped out that whole little section with the center vents, the radio, the climate control etc. I installed my radio and all is well.

Then last night I noticed that my heater isn't blowing warm anymore. When I popped up the bottom right side of that same piece, the heat magically started blowing hot. I pop it back in, it's cold. I can't see that there is anything being clamped off or anything there. Does anyone have ANY idea where I can start looking to diagnose the problem?

there is a cable that runs from the bottom left of the heating controls. It goes straight back and then curves to the passenger side under the dash where it connects to the flap. Check and make sure that the cable has not popped off the clip there. Most likely it has, you just have to push it back on to the housing.

With a flashlight you can see it in the passenger footwell. Look up and towards the middle of the car a bit on the firewall

cool, ill check that later today and let you know.

okay, problem. I found that the wire has not popped off of the little clip, but this is the area of the problem. I can manually move the little white clip that the wire is attached to (under the glove box area) and there is about an inch of play over and above what the knob does. is my wire stretched or is something else not hooked? I looked at both ends of the wire, and they do not appear to be pulled or anything other than stock. Please tell me something else is just not clipped good...

only thing I can think of is that I pulled the center thing out too far when I was looking around behind there.

there's a clip on the cable that has to clip onto a plastic piece in the dash. if its not clipped on it won't keep enough tension for the knobs to pull thingy to choose cold or hot air

kickass. I'll report back after work.

Yeah i had that exact same problem......just check all your clips for your heater wires and everything......If there is alot of play then something is not clipped, hooked, or whatever.
