WTB: Stock MSP radio or equivalent

I have the OE 2003 MSP flip-face radio in good condition... somewhere in my basement... except... the ribbon cable to the faceplate broke. It can be fixed if you know ribbon cables and solder (I don't have a need to do that). If I can find it I'll send it to you for $10 (shipping cost) if you want it.

there is nothing equivalent to the monstrosity that is the OEM kenwood deck -- though it has some cool features, they were discontinued for a reason

Thanks but I rather just get something in working order. I know I would never fix it.

Yudkib, you're saying there is nothing that will work with my existing stereo connector? I could care less what feature the radio has other than a CD player and AM/FM tuner, I just don't want to hack up the factory harness. I was under the impression that there was an alternative to the stock deck.

Thanks for the input.

im not the audio expert, but i think the kenwood deck -- if you have a MSP -- has the typical harness connector whereas if you have a p5 or something with a mazda HU then you need an adapter cable. i think most stereos will be plug-and-play on the MSP but it would be good if someone could confirm it

If you don't mind me asking, what was the model number for the stock MSP radio faceplate? I have a Kenwood, but I don't think it's stock, and it works great! I only just replaced it so I could have bluetooth. It plays videos of like a jetski or something while it's on haha.

Just a heads up, most aren't plug and play... you will have to do some cutting and soldering. I would suggest getting one with BOTH of the wiring harnesses. The one that can plug into the stock harness, then the one that can plug into the new radio, and then solder them together. That is what I did on my Pioneer.
