WTB: I need a short block:/

I noticed a tapping sound in my motor yesterday.. My friend said it sounds like the death rattle.. So I guess I need a new motor.. Any help of where to find one would be greatly appreciated..

You might want to check and make sure that it's not something else. You're friend may be wrong.
When I had my Honda I took it into Advanced Auto to test the alt. He told me the ticking (valves) are my cylinders smacking the walls

Also check for an exhaust leak

Well I did have an exhaust manifold leak but I got a new gasket, I'm pretty sure everything else is ok

Yeah replaced that a few weeks ago, ticking started the other day after we adjusted my wastegate..

How loud is the ticking? does it sound like rod knock? these engines do tick every now and them it seems like.

Also try topping off the oil...

My protege had a loud tap that was nothing more than exhaust leak. I was freaking out until I figured out what the issue was.

It's pretty loud in higher end 1st and 2nd, every now and then in 3rd and sometimes just cruising.. And I did top off the oil and added Lucas oil stabilizer and it's still doing it..

if you replace the block let me know how much you want for your old one with rod knock as long as the crank journals arent too messed up

Well, now one of my other friends listened to it the other day and he thinks it's something in the head, you can almost hear it right on top of the motor, I'm taking it to my friends shop to pull the valve cover off and listen and look around, but my other friend said he doesn't think anything in the head could break like that to make that sound, but I guess we will see..
