Worst Mazda dealership ever (Montreal)

djstan, awesome letter

I just got back from Albi Mazda a few minutes ago. Like i said before, i had a few issues.

-Rear-right window does not work
-Clunk rear suspension
-HUGE clunk front suspension when i hit big pot holes
-Oil Change

All that took 2 hours .... so i'm kinda dissapointed. The guy knew about the bushins when i talking about my rear suspension, so i didn't have to fight to make him hear my point. BUT ........ they didn't have any in stock. He said all they had to do to fix my front suspension problem was readjusting the bar/bushing (???). I don't know why all that took so long but anyway, they were nice. He said they ordered the bushings and will call me back as soon as they have them. So let's see how that goes. hopefully it wont take 6 months

SKY- Whici dealer ordered your bushings ?
Yeah man, sounds like Albi might care a little bit or maybe even more than that. They seem to be upfront with you. I'm curious about how long the bushings take.

I've been dealing with 2-20 since the spring of 2000 when I bought an MPV. We bought the car thru a broker and the first time we went for service they gave us all kinds of heart ache because we didn't buy the car from them. I have had issues with their service dept on occasion. Both Stephane and Pierre know me very well now and I get the royal treatment, but there has been some letter writing and shouting to get to that point. I have had the service rep in my driveway performing repairs on the MPV as well.
I can't say if was all my doing, but one of the worst service advisors I have ever dealt with was fired recently after I went a bit bizerk when he refused to even check if a failed CD player was covered on the extended "bumper-to-bumper" warranty, basically calling me a liar that I was claiming I even had an extended warranty. Do I feel bad, not really. If he didn't like his job he shouldn't have been doing it in the first place.
As with anything else, if your not satisfied you have to push to get your way. Ultimately i have gotten my way evertime I have felt that I wasn't being treated properly by 2-20.
I am now waiting to take delivery on a 3 GT GTX sedan, bought thru 2-20. I worked an unbeleavable deal. I intend to service it there as well. But Mazda service has always been mediocre at best. My buddy has a G35 coupe and Nissan is not much better even though his brother in law is general counsel for Nissan Canada and the dealer is aware of that relationship.

mtlsat, welcome to the board =)

It's incredible how a dealer can not care that much about their customers. I mean ... who cares if you didnt buy your car there ? They are still being payed for their service. I'd be glad if people came to my dealership for service because as we all know, they don't make a whole lot of money off of sales (i think).

by the way, i noticed that the serial number of the bushings Albi ordered for me are the right one (ends with 156E)

so far .... i think i'll keep driving 30mins to get service. they've been pretty good up until now

Hey Metal, thanks for the welcome!

Thats exactly what I told them, in the 10 years I will probably own the MPV they'd make an aweful lot more off me in their service bay than on the showroom floor.
Like I said, after flipping out they finally saw things my way but its unfortunate that you have to loose your cool to get decent service. Never had any similar problems with my Honda's.
Back in the late 80's when I owned and RX7, they had by far the best reputation of any Mazda dealer in the west end of the city. Too bad something changed.

came back from albi yesterday: bushings are ordered but won't be expected until late may; the mechanic took them apart and re-greased them until they come in; seems to have stopped the squeak...

and he fixed the turbo oil return line by tightening the screws and putting an extra hose clamp...
