Wonder why your engine keeps blowing up?

yeah, its a ecu reprograming and they check what fuel pump you have.. some fuel pumps are not effected..

i had my ecu reprogrammed and the car feels alot better and alot smoother with more power in each gear, the turbo also spools up earlier..

Appearantly it effects mine as well.. Guess that explains my somewhat sucky 1/4 and low trap speed.

Thanks for posting this I had no idea and mine is a 2008

inspecting it to see the production date, if it is before a day then yes, if not they leave it..

Just called my local Mazda dealership about this. We'll see what I hear back from them.

Even if it isn't, they still have to flash your pcm, it's basically not giving out enough power making the car lean. I know this is why I lost my engine now, hope all the people who told me I was wrong realize that this car had serious problems. Hopefully this fix allows us to run boost safely on the stock pump.

Both the MS3 and CX7 are affected....need to visit the dealer.
and MS6.

"Intermittent lack of power during acceleration when engine gets hot."

Sounds like me.. Looking forward to this one!

and wait, what happened to your engine?

about the new pumps, before rumors arise!

the internals are the same (I have seen old pumps and new pumps), instead, it is the 'spill-over solenoid' on the top of the pump (the electrical connector goes to it). That is what regulates pressure with the pump and to the hard fuel line, further going to the injectors. A pin moves up and down pushing on a cap and spring assembly (itty-bitty, maybe 1/4" big), to regulate flow of gasoline to the pressurization chamber.

In no way will any body be getting a free upgrade from mazda! LOL. The pistons diameter and bore diameter are the same, no doubt about it, whatsoever. The reaction time of that solenoid (what the PDF directly talks about!) is prolonged due to the need of a larger current to run different variations of solenoids, or the 'slow response'. They arent talking about the response of the piston/bore assembly - that will always be the same - the cam is always spinning!

I hope this makes good sense to you guys. The ECU reflash will most likely raise the goal AFR of the car and ECU, which would allow higher pressures in the fuel rail, always, due to less fuel escaping the rail through the injectors and into each cylinder.

When it comes to recalls, do the dealers have the right to refuse service due to after-market modifications even though the problem is documented and widespread (hence the recall)?

Same here. I am going back to the dealer to work out the final things with my new engine.. I am printing this now and we are going to do something about it.. like NOW.
