Ok, a car full of girls were pulled up along side of me admiring the car. :D..then they pointed out that my tire looked a bit low...I checked the pressure and it was 32.5 close enough to the 32 the sticker on the door says the front should be. I looked at it and it did look low (felt a littl low too)
The tire says max press=44psi but i know the max isn't what you want from an earlier post...any thoughts on what it should be? Of course I checked the other side and it was 36psi and looked fine, I want to even them up obviously, but which one to adjust is the question. Thanks everyone :D

i have the same tires, 205 50 r16 right?
i put mine all the way up to 44 psi that has been working okay for me so far.

I have 15 inch artic alpins on mine. I have them at about 33 psi. Because they are snow tires they like to sit flat on the road to provide more surface area on the ground. Otherwise ask a tire place and see what they think.

Tim

Ive got them on 15's.
I think I'm gonna have to go with Tim on this one and keep the fronts around 32-33. I was reading somewhere that with big changes in temp you can't go on looks.
Thanks for the info guys.

ONCE AGAIN. DO NOT INFLATE YOUR TIRES TO THE "MAXIMUM PSI" READING ON THE SIDEWALL. This is the MAXIMUM pressure the tire can handle. You want to inflate below this (the question is where)... If you inflate to 44psi and you drive for a bit, the tires will heat up, and pressure inside will increase. You risk blowing your tire if you inflate to the "MAXIMUM PSI" reading on the sidewall.

I know from experience. I once thought you were supposed to inflate to "MAXIMUM PSI", and I blew the sidewall out within days :)...

Chris

the maximum PSI on a sidewall is the maximum cold pressure...

mind you if you do inflate that high, you'd be silly, and the same reason that if you had you tyres low, they would delaminate....

when you measure your car with 44 psi, i presume you were out of the car? as soon as the load increased.. ie when ya get tha fat arse inside the car, they tyre pressure will increase... welcome to physics...duh

my michelins sit a little "squatty" at proper pressure too, I think alot of this is that we're no longer used to "normal" tires since everything is low profile anymore. Also the sidewalls aren't as stiff. designed for compliance to get traction rather than high-traction cornering prowess.

michelins normally sit squatty....

i've had michelins in the past and they always look wider than the tire you just took off!!!
