With winter just around the corner, can anyone suggest nice winter floor mats for our cars???

the dealer here had a clearance on misc. floormats, try that. or just go to autozone, and get some.

well, I bought pant savers mats at Canadian Tire for 14 CANADIAN DOLLARS..that's like 2 dollars American...they are amazing...

I got a set of 4 at BJ's Wholesale Club for $24. They are clear/opaque in color and the channels are pretty deep. Kept all the salt and melted snow off of my carpets last year!

Gee did our dollar rise lately...2 bucks american is a lot more than usual isn't it? :)

or... if you guys are willing to spend the money and go all out.. you could just get a second set of the factory mats... (didnt think to check if u guys r p5 or mp3 owners before postin this).. but i think i would like to get another set of the factory mp3 mats.. just because i like them so much.. and its not like it really snows here in los angeles or anything...

plus every spring you could always take the winter mats to get cleaned.... and then keep em in the closet till next winter...

however, im assuming alot of you live where theres snow and you want some form of plastic or similar material floormats... if thats the case, then disregard this post :p

Do NOT buy plastic mats for winter use : they freeze in one position and can become dangerous. You need rubber ones, like Pant Savers (are they available in USA?). I've had a complete set for years and they are like new.

What do you mean they freeze?

And, why would being in one position be dangerous?

I bought some really good rubber mats from Costco last year and I think they were $35.00 CAD. ( front and back). When I went to pick up my new P5, the dealership ( or the salesman) had put the mats in upsidedown so the plastic side was facing up. They said they always do that. Still have them that way but may invest in a new pair of Costco ones since I put my old ones in my miata. ( had to trim them down to size)..

Gorza187, I just wanted to comment the fact that you have one of the nicest sigs I have seen, who did it?

"We now bring you back to your regularly scheduled thread."

Hey you guys, I was just checking out this thread then headed over to esmack and did a google search and I can't find pant savers anywhere. I'd like to get a set if they're really that good. Does anyone have pics of them? Are they rubber mats like the cargo tray that we can get for the hatch or are they some sort of carpety thing? Anyway, if anyone knows where to get some US or if any Canadians are willing to help an east coast girl get some then please let me know. Thanks! :D

clownphish, I don't know about pant savers but there are a lot of really cheap rubber mats in pep boys. How much of a difference can they make?
I'm wondering if I should get a set that I found for 10 bucks, Carpeted with rubber bottom, just like the factory one, for the winter.
