Windshield ding

Has anyone her tried the windshield ding repair kits? I have a small hit with a slight crack, about 1/8 inch. Do they really work? Any favorite brands? I've looked around the web and saw a couple of videos. I'm willing to try a repair, but only if it will last. Comments please. Thanks

Most insurances will fix your windshield from a small crack as long as it is not bigger then a quarter for free of charge without any negative effects on your policy. Check with your insurance provider.

I have done it a few times...If you are patient and can follow instructions, a DIY kit can give you decent results.

If the "ding" is in an area where it is in the drivers line of vision, or within 4 inches of the windshields border, I would have a professional do it as suggested above.

Thanks for the info. I knew I had replacement coverage, but didn't know repairs were also covered. My insurance Co gave me a go ahead so I"ll let the pros do it

Those little bitty chips come out looking almost perfect if a good pro does it. I've seen some where you have to really move your head back and forth to see the slightest ripple in the scenery through the glass. For normal driving it would be completely unnoticeable.

Good luck. I hate chips on anything when it comes to cars.
