Do you all think one solid color all the way around looks better? I went to a shop to get estimates and most wont darken the front much due to the law in VA. They guy said ya we can do 35% fron 50% back. I am not sure I want it half and half.

Would it look better just doing it all 35%?

I think you mean 50% front and 35% rear.

35% all-around will definitely look better -> had it on my RSX.

The only downside is that you could end up with a ticket.
I never had a ticket for the RSX, and even the tint shop owner
told me not to worry about it since the car had a light tan interior.

The MS3, on the other hand, has a dark interior, so I'm debating what percentage tint I should go with myself. I'll probably talk to the tint shop guy again for his recommendation.

I have mine done even all the way around with the exception of the liftgate. 35% on all windows and 50% on the hatch.

Looks great! I think 50% for the liftgate is a good idea, so that people following behind you can see your hand signals. (and cops following behind won't automatically assume you have a super dark tint on the side) *^_^*

Thats really nice lookin. Man do I need to get mine done soon. Just need to find a good place around here!

Mine are 35% front and 5% the rear. I love how u cant see in the back at all.

Advantage of the 5% in rear:
1.Cars behind you when night driving wont blind at all, unless you already have a auto. dim mirror.
2. Looks nice on sunny day

Disadvantage:
1. Hard to see out of the rear at night time.
2. Driver behind you can't see hand signals.

If you could go 30% all around, that would be very sharp looking, but then again, 35% you are on the safe site.

I say you go 5% all the way around, even the winshield. Lol, i really think you should go 35% or one step lighter in the front and one or 2 steps darker in the back.

yes sir you are correct I had them backwards. Had a few estimates done for 50% on the front and 35% the rest of the car cheapest was $180-$225. Just wnat to make sure that it would blend well.

I wish we could go a few steps either way but i dont want to be a ticket magnet

lol! Can other drivers see the inside from the rear? and how much was it?

(metallic tint or dye?) ^_^

Not metallic. I got a flat color. I didn't think a metallic color would loook that great.

If the sun is shining they can see through fine.

It's pitch black at night, Can't see anything behind me unless there are headlights behind me.

I was referring to the film material.
Metallic film is superior because they don't fade (more $$);
they also have better heat rejection.

Regular dye film is much cheaper although the color fades away over time.

Hmm... I guess I'll stick to 35% or 50% for the liftgate.
Not being able to see the rear at night sounds dangerous. (ughdance)

3M makes a really good tint that is lifetime garunteed not to fade.

My old car had 20% all around, I will probably do the same on this one. It was just dark enough at daytime that you couldnt see in, but wasnt so dark that it was a hazard at night

though a bad picture... this is metallic tint. 50% front 35% rear

Va legal! $225 because of the tint cost.

Very nice , please post a better angle if you can becasue I plan on being VA leagal as well and your the model for that.

When i hear metalic I keep thinkning CHROME tint..lol

Window Tint

I have 35% in the Front and Limo-Grade Tint [whatever the percentage is] in the passanger compartment and rear window.

It's great for the occassional "slap-n-tickle" session in the back seat but a b**** for reversing at night - oh and spotting 5-0 in your rear view....

I wouldn't recommend going that dark just because it's annoying.

If you can do a consistant tint all around it will look much sharper.
