Window Tinting in Illinois = Crap

All that I am saying is that it is not necessary to make a blanket statement. I don't know if this is a joke or not- I'm leaning towards not.Every profession has its share of assholes, I am not denying that. I am a cop(and proud to be) and I've been following this Illinois section for over a year. I usually find the conversation funny and the group on here seems to be cool. I've even contemplated on going to one of the meets. I am a car guy. If you saw my car you would never even think that I was a cop- Lowered, rims, tinted windows all around, ect. Sorry to jack the thread.

where ya located at in the great land of lincoln? (first)

A cop who's breaking the tinting law

Let's face it- tint looks good on cars. Still have my front plate on though. (wink)
I personally don't write any tickets for it, but I will use it as a probable cause for a traffic stop.

sweet. How do you think other cops feel about tint? Hear a lot about ticketing for it? I'm wanting to tint my windows a moderate level, so just curious :)

Understandable to use it as a traffic stop, and thank you for not writing tickets for it. You rule!

<-- no front plate

PS. Can you bring your squad car to a meet and do tons of burnouts? :D

Lord Zath- Where I work not many of my co-workers write tickets for tint. However that doesn't mean you won't get stopped. Especially if you have multiple violations- no front plate, cracked windshield, ect. Every Officer is different, just as every town is different. As far as parking tickets for tint, I don't know of anyone besides Chicago who writes those, correct me if I am wrong.

I am an idiot. JK13 I thought you were from Florida. I do not know where the hell I saw that? Anyways are you at all interested in coming to the bbq?

jk13, you definitely need to come to our meet and hang out. we have a great time without getting into any serious trouble ;)

i think its cool that we can get a perspective of someone on the other side

you guys act like hes working for the devil or some s***. His job is being a police officer... my job is drug trafficking, so what? We are all individuals when not on the clock.

Hey guys I think I am going with 35 all around. Just hope that I don't get pulled over. I don't drive through Chicago very often so that is a plus. Should have it done by beach day. Thanks for all your feedback guys on my very, very difficult decision in life.
