Window tint

I got my old Civic done in Easton like 5 or 6 years ago in Easton for $150. The guy did a great job- no bubbles or anything. I forget the name of the shop, though.

My metallized came with a lifetime warranty but I'll let anyone I know who wants to get tinted to go for the carbon based.
See, I thought my metallized came with a lifetime warranty... turns out it came with a lifetime workmanship warranty, but only a limited (still pretty long at 6 years) warranty against fading.

I've got a parking garage at my work now so the only time my car is exposed to direct sunlight for long periods is on the weekends or vacation. Hopefully that will extend the life of my tint long enough that I don't ever have to do it again.

Hello everyone... was wondering if anybody knew whether or not it is customary to "tip" the guy that tints your window? Or is everything already included in the agreed upon price before the job? If tinting is necessary, how much is considered sufficient? Thank you.

I tipped my guy $20, but he basically made it sound like that was unusual, made an excuse like "this is for my coworker for lunch, thanks." I'd say dont' worry about it..

At a price of twice what the whole rest of the country pays I would probably not be inclined, but it depends on the work quality and the attitude of the person (and if I feel guilty)

so i got a quote for around $220 - i'm taking it there during lunch tomorrow. he said they could do it in an hour (2 guys). should i be worried or is that ok?

their guarantee:

Every window film we stock comes complete with a LIFETIME warranty against chipping, cracking, peeling, delaminating and even from turning purple.

and they say they only use "Lumar & 3M™ Scotchcal™" tint...so..
