Will we see a Diesel Rotary!

Yeah I just read about this today...This is the first time I heard "talk" of a diesel rotary which sounds VERY INTERESTING...There are A LOT of juicy details in that MT article...Great read and thanks for posting a heads up on the forums! (2thumbs)

Can't wait to hear more about this possible diesel option (imagine running it on "bio" diesel)! :D

The SKY engines are pistons, no rotary.

The problem is that diesel have a real high ignition point (above 20:1) but I red that mazda with the latest 2.2 diesel (with +-185HP and 400Nm) the compression ratio is downed to 16:1 (normal fuel is max 11:1) for a better turbo. I don't know how much a rotary can have but the problem is that they will have to up the compression allot for only diesel running and then I'm not speaking with a turbo.

I saw on a youtube (motrend vid) the 16x can run on both not actually 2 different engines.
I can't see it being able to find the rite compression for both intresting though.
