Will Rx-7 FC3S wheels fit a 5 lug Protege (5)?

Hi all...

I had pm'ed flat_black about this too and lots of good info, but I just got an email reply back from the seller of these wheels telling me that the offset is like 5 1/4" (wtf...that's like 133.4 mm)....doesn't sound right at all..according to flat_black, it should be 40mm vs. the stock Protege 16" at 50mm. (dark)

These are the 15" "bologna cutter", directional wheels and I just need to know if they'd fit (they might be fugly on the 5, but better than steelies (hump) )

Thanks!
Dimitrios

They will fit. 5X114.3 is the bolt pattern. The offset should be between 35-45mm. On a 15X6 wheel the offset is not as critical as on a 17 or 18 inch wheel.

lol...thanks man. like I said, the the reason I was posting was because the seller was saying that they were like 5 1/4" (though he called it backspacing, not offset..same thing)?

Hey, you may want to PM Katya4me. She bought FC wheels for her P5 and had to have the back of the wheel machined to fit. It wasn't terribly expensive to have done, and the wheels look pretty sweet on the car. I don't remember exactly why they didn't fit as-is.

yea they fit i use them P5 stock wheel for rollers on a few rx7's i have in the shop

I don't have the "bologna cutter" wheels as you call them, but rather the '91 15" 5 spoke bubble ones that look more like the P5 wheels. They are the right offset, but the center wasn't wide enough to fit over the hub on my car. I had to get them machined so that the hole was wider, otherwise perfect fit and they look great and are awesome for autox.

They will not fit. Hub bore on the RX-7 wheels is too small. Protege wheels will go on the 7, though the offset isn't right, but FC wheels will NOT fit on a protege without modification as katya4me stated. At least not on the MSP.

Discovered this my first winter with the stock RE040's. It is a pretty sad day when your turbocharged rwd sports car gets around in the snow better than your fwd lsd equipped 4 door... :(
