Will I need upgrade fuel pump?

In the works of getting a PG TMIC from Ken over protegegarage. They're currently out of stock and will be getting some kits this month, needless to say I'm very excited. Getting it powdercoated black with a little something special on the top hotside pipe. Anywhooo, I'm pretty set on getting it, my only concern is will it be possible that I'll have fuel problems? The only real power mods I have are the Cobb SRI/TIP, Accessport, and Corksport test-pipe. I know that people running a downpipe + FMIC usually need a fuel pump. All logs I have as of right now show my Fuel Pressure being pretty strong @ wot, never lower than 1600, sometimes even as high as 1750. Let me know what you guys think.

I'd consider it anyway but, as long as you can monitor it, you can try it out first. anything under 1660 is fail, according to Mazda, at 60% or greater load.

If you got the PTP internals you would get >1800psi at wot. Even if your pump isn't failing, you will notice a difference in the car with upgraded internals. Might as well upgrade now, you will have to eventually if you keep modding.

It's just one less thing to worry about.
Also keep in mind if you're powdercoating the intercooler make sure you get one that will dispurse heat. Normal powdercoating will actually hinder the performance of the intercooler.

Having had a pump fail, I can tell you it fails hard and you will have to stay out of boost until you change it. For me, it took almost a month to get my pump assy from PTP. It is a little more enjoyable to wait out the month (if it were to be backordered at the time like mine was) while you have a functioning pump!

This is the main problem, they sell fast and take a while to make. I know for a fact that PTP has several dozen on the shelf right now, but going fast.

I know I'm going to get them eventually, but I don't have the money for them on top of the FMIC. Sigggghhh I guess we'll just have to see. I would go ahead and get them but then that would mean no FMIC, and thats no fun. I guess I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed.

In regards to the powdercoating, I'm getting in done by Ken at protegegarage, I guess I'll ask him about what kind they use. But I'm still debating whether or not to get the core done or not. Not sure if I want the sleeper look. If I'm going to pay the money for a fmic part of me wants it to be seen.
