Well, Andrea is going to be in Milwaukee May 16-20th, so maybe somewhere in Brookfield one of those days for dinner or something.

I was planning on waiting to see what she has to say about it.

The Road America thing is going to be one of four weekends that we can get out on the track:

May 19-21 SVRA Spring Vintage Weekend
June 1-4 AMA Suzuki Superbike Doubleheader
June 22-25 Kohler Chicago region June Sprints
August 17-20 Generac 500 ALMS

Hey there, thanks for keeping me in mind :)

However, I won't be staying in Milwaukee - I will be in Plover, close to Paul's (Mr. Detailer) getting some much needed detailing advice and training. (thumb) I'll be like a kid in a candy store, playing with all his stuff... who knows, some of it might find it's way into my suitcase! lol

Since I'm not sure of times/distances/places to meet, or where all of you reside, I can't really say what does or doesn't work. For me personally, anything on Thursday or Friday would be fine; Saturday is out because my flight leaves around 5pm from the Milwaukee airport. I'm game for just about anything, really... and did someone mention twisties???? :D Hell yeah I'm down for that, passenger or driver (hint, hint).

So yeah, let me know if what was kind of arranged still works or not... (cheers)

Plover is a good couple of hours from delafield, but we all hope that you can make it, I will be working a half day so I will have almost all day to entertain out of towners.

I'll check with Paul on this, but I don't think it would be a problem. The only thing is that I would rather not do any driving (to wherever we'd be meeting), as I will be completely unfamiliar with the area and would rather not get lost. lol Plus, I'm a light-weight... If any drinking is going to be taking place, I'm not driving - it's as simple as that. (friday)

Thanks for letting me know about only working the half day... the more people I can meet, the better! I hope this ends up working out.

holy s***, Plover?

That is up by Stevens Point, we'd be better off meeting in Madison!

and if you didn't want to head back to Plover Friday night, I'm sure it can be arranged for you to stay at one of our places to give you a head start the next day...

Like I say, you guys make the plans - if I can be there, I will. :)

I do have a hotel room booked in Plover, but that's very nice of you to offer... who knows, I may end up taking one of you up on that. It would shorten the drive back to the airport on Saturday.

oh yeah, I'm headed to milwaukee for the weekend in a bit here, anyone going to be around on saturday? thinking about doing a brewery tour, not sure which one yet

whoa, so there's a mini-meet this sunday?

and don't mind that i'm posting at 10:39PM on st. patty's night... i have a fever :(

Well I don't really know what everyone is planning here, but if anyone feels like meeting up in Madison sometime in May I would be really interested in that.

Great! local meet. I dont think i will do any track time but might come and watch. I am good for a meet basically anytime. My birthday is in may so thats about all i have to do. and finnishing school. keep things rollin here. This wisconsin place has been quite dead.

i really wanna run my car on the track but i've heard i should wave goodbye to my tires afterwards and i dont have the $$ right now for new ones. is this true that the road america track beats the snot out of your tires?

any track beats the hell out of your tires. Well for tham matter most anything besides normal driving beats your tires. they will wear thats for sure. i had some stupid kumhos when i got the car and i wouldnt dare run them on a track. 2 laps and they would be slicks. well thats how bad the tredwear is. lol

FYI--the track days y'all are talking about at Road America are not 'open' track where you can go as fast as you want. Those spectator events mentioned allow 'touring' during lunch for fans that want to pay the $ (usually around $50 per day) and see the track. There is usually a speed limit, no passing in the corners and no passing the numerous on-track pacecars whatsoever. They are fun and you can go fast at times, but you need not worry about wearing out your tires or abusing your car. The best events to go to are those w/ the least spectators, thus less cars for touring and more track time (an hour if you're lucky). The June Sprints are decent because I think it is $25/day and they give you a bit more freedom on track so you can go fast.

Depending on the size of the group I might be able to get you into the track for other SCCA events as 'crew'; those races are not open to the public but often have touring that is cheap and more fun. I live in WI and race an MP3 in SCCA National events. I have never been to one of your meets since I don't drive my car on the street, though it is street legal.

Another FYI--my MP3 racecar is for sale for $11K obo. The buyer will receive a FREE test day at Road America in May. A test day there costs over $10K, but I am part of a group that purchased one. Without entering a race this is your only chance to drive at race speeds at RA. It is TONS of fun, the track is yours ALL DAY and it's a great way for the new owner to test the car for FREE!

Have fun at the meet, and feel free to post or email uwecje @ yahoo.com (spaces added to avoid spam) if you have any questions.
