Why did Jack Daniels do this???

They dropped the original 86 proof black label whiskey to 80 proof from here on out. To most this won't mean dick, but I absolutely love JD and don't ever want it getting weaker...for the news on this just go to yahoo News and type in Jack Daniels...

no, the 3% isn't it, when you drop that 3% there is a significant taste difference. And they are slowly taking away the tradition of JD. 10 years ago it was a standard 90proof, then dropped to 86, now 80.

Evan Williams Single Barrel or Knob Creek..... Neat That's all ya need. Though I like to treat myself to Booker's Noe every now and again.

MMmmm....Knob Creek is great stuff. Ever have Basil Hayden's?

woodford reserve, all you ever need...... makers mark is a good substitute though

Single Barrel JD is really good. I also like to drink Gentleman Jack. The Gentlemans is cheaper than the Single Barrel. Drink both on the rocks.

I am more of a scotch drinker now than a bourbon/whiskey drinker. (unless it's blended scotch whiskey)

I'm kind of a boozebag.

(no) Boozebag, drunkard, wastecase. Actually, i havent been drunk for a while. I can't afford it. I have been smoking a lot more instead.

I do enjoy JD, but I would say I like jameson more. But, nothing quite relieves a hard day than half a bottle of single barrel.

I love Jameson, very very smooth. I was introduced to it by my friend from NYC, who can easily drink me under the table (not hard to do anyways).

I read that Jack Daniels was lowering the proof due to some feedback from customers who wanted the taste but not the harshness of the alcohol. Don't get me wrong, I like JD, and would rather keep it the way it was meant to be. Just that you have to acquire a taste for it.

After a long day of work I like to relax with a nice glass of a 99 bananas on the rocks.

In college a friend of mine dropped a whole bottle on a green tile floor, he left it for a minute to get something to wipe it up. He came back to a section of tile that had lost all it's color and there was no trace of booze left. Just think what that stuff does to your gut.

ANYTHING you can buy at a store for legal consumption can't hold a candle to the harshness of the acid in your stomach...that YOUR body produces....
