I've run mine to atmosphere with the aftermarket FMIC locating the BPV exit to the other side of the intercooler..... it still makes an insanely stupid sound. I've only heard a clear "Pshhh" at like 3psi when i let my foot off the gas slowly.
so perhaps the turkey is caused by the return tube being too small and not being able to vent the pressure fast enough causing compressor surge? if people who are venting to atm are not getting the turkey, this is probably the case.
I like the turkey. Still can't understand what's unlikeable about it. I'm pretty used to blow of valve sounds from other turbo cars but I like the uniqueness of the MSP. I wont be trying to find any way around this, I'll recirc, boost, get sweet sounds and run smoothly.
Good luck to everyone trying to vent.
i agree, the turkey is unique, and i for one am pretty fond of it (though when i get the money, i'm changing out to a blitz and recirculate it). but if it is compressor surge caused by the return tube, that's not what you want.
