Who is getting (or planning to get) a CX-70?

We do have our first CX-70 inventory coming in for FL and Northeast regions, Northeast per usual a bit more aggressive on pricing. Seems to be rolling out PHEVs first along with some S-trims initially, which is typical for a new model launch, then lower trims will start tapering in over the coming weeks/months. Probably won't see actual inventory of lower trim CX-70s until later this year.

Not to thread jack, but if anyone is interested in a free no-bs quote on a CX-70 in FL or the Northeast (no MA) please feel free to drop us an inquiry, no cost to do so - Auto Ninjas Mazda247 Inquiry

@RBrylawski, now that you have the CX70, will you be starting an owner's thead?
I haven't been around these parts long enough to know if that is something I should do? I suppose I can though. It just would need to be done tonight, when I get home from work.

Not a requirement at all! It would just make it easier for yourself (and others) to follow along with an owner's experience. I maintain a similar thread for my car, and I use it to keep track of any modifications I've made and any services I've done, along with the mileage at each service. It doubles as an easily accessible backup service history/maintenance log if I ever have any warranty claims or if I decide to sell the car.

Thanks. Would you send me a link to your thread, so I see how you started it?

Sure, here you go. I get more vigilant with noting maintenance stuff in the more recent posts.

Perfect. Thank you. I'll start one tonight or as soon as I can.

Just got back from the dealer (fortunately, like one mile from my office). It seemed the car took bumps a bit harshly and I checked the tire pressure (man they don't make it easy to find it in the Information Settings), but all four tires were at 51 PSI, when they should be at 36 PSI. Since they're nitrogen filled, the dealer suggested I stop by and have them let some Nitrogen out and then make sure they were filled to the right PSI. Was in and out of the dealership in less than 10 minutes, which was great! This was a clear miss from whoever did the Pre-Delivery-Inspection on my car.

Yeah, seems to be a common occurrence unfortunately. I had the same thing happen to me when my car was delivered. All four tires were between 45-50 psi and I had to air them down to 36-38. Lots of new owners have reported the same thing.

Service advisor said they're overfilled at the factory for the journey across the ocean voyage to the US and the PDI team is supposed to know to lower the air pressure, but it clearly slipped through the cracks. Not a big deal and I could have honestly let air out, but if I let too much out, I don't have a nitrogen tank in my garage to add some back.

Factory doesn't nitrogen fill tires, but factory leaving them at high PSI for new car transport is standard fare. During my Mazda days I would PDI cars myself at night if we were spotting them late, which consisted of topping off washer fluid, deflating down air in tires and popping some fuses in. The fact that the dealer didn't deflate tires down from factory but also said they filled them with nitrogen is a bit comical to me, clearly no nitrogen in them if the factory air was left in it.

FWIW they do this to avoid warranty tire replacements, overinflating helps avoid flat spots from sitting in lots and yards between manufacture date and date of retail sale.

OK. But whoever filled the tires filled them with Nitrogen and put green valve stem covers on them (which I've since replaced with nicer Mazda Logoed metal stem covers.

Just a head up with metal valve stem covers - if you're in a climate where corrosion might be an issue, be sure to clean them regularly. I've had one valve stem corrode enough to have to carefully grind it off the valve stem.

I live in Tampa, FL., and have been using metal ones for years, without any corrosion issues, but do appreciate the heads up. Typically do inspect them often enough to know if something is going on with them. Not highly corrosive down here.

Also, the green stem covers which came on the car were metal. Just didn't much care for the green color against the black metal of the wheel where the stem comes out from. These are what I bought.

You have metal valve caps with plastic inserts to prevent sticking due to corrosion.
BTW: my car tires are filled with 78% nitrogen!
Just compressed air ;-).
Yes, I do remember reading they had plastic inserts to prevent corrosion.

Thanks hsdejong.

Not just Mazda that does that. Even from the plant in SC BMWs get overfilled for shipment. Of course, a lot of their production is getting shipped offshore as well. My X5 tires were at 45psi when operating pressure is 35psi front and 37psi rear.

It was certainly a quick thing to adjust. And now Mazda, has fixed the app so I can see the TP in the app easily.

If looing for a CX-60 sized SUV, might I suggest the BMW X3. It is the same 186inchish size as the CX-60 and can be had for less than the X5 which is another 7" longer, 4" wider, 1" taller and 600lbs heavier than the X3. 2025 is a new model which will bring it up to the refinement of the X5. The next-gen X3 model (G45) is 47 mm (1.85 in) longer, 29 mm (1.14 in) wider, and 16 mm (0.16 in) lower than the outgoing X3 (G01). The current M40i version and upcoming M50 version has B58 motor and ZF 8 speed transmision like the current X5 40i. Figure about $8-$10K cheaper than a comparable X5 with a 4.4s 0-60 time.

Well, the official reveal is here and I'm not a big fan of the cheap interior!

We looked at the new X1 for my partner last weekend. Most unimpressed with the interior. Waaaaay too plasticky. And the center console is the goofiest thing I've ever seen. All you could possibly put in it would a v-shaped remote control of some sort or maybe pens or cards. It wouldn't even fit my iPhone 15 Pro Max. The real storage us under it, fully exposed, which could permit things to fall out during cornering. Makes no sense whatsoever.
