Who else is waiting impatiently for the 2016 CX-5?

I had the Titanium colour home a couple nights ago. It was a decent colour but almost looked green or olive in the sun. I figured it might get old fast so I bought a black one. I am so boring.

And so round two commences. Salesman called this morning and says he got the price he originally quoted me, $29,674 + TTL and $85 doc fee. It's an hour drive and he knows that so hopefully they don't try to jerk me around again when I get there. We'll see....
According to Edmunds the GT AWD $28,631 with Tech $1335 and IActivesense at $1339 and Delivery fee of $880 adds up to $32,185 invoice price. According to last years TruePrice the 2015's sold $177 above invoice. No TruePrice on the 2016's yet but $32,385 would be a fair price in my eyes. $30K would be an excellent deal. How can a dealer sell it for below invoice? Isn't invoice what they pay for the car?

Invoice used to be what they paid for the car until the manufacturers started offering $1k+ "dealer incentives" that don't change the invoice price. Whatever deal Consumer Reports gets with Truecar apparently lets them show this (or some approximation).

I wish I had waited to get a 2016 CX-5, but I got mine last year and the infotainment is the ONLY thing I hate about my CX-5 and I do a lot of windshield time so its important to me. I had planned to keep my CX-5 for many happy years and had already started the search for its replacement in June 2017. Then I saw the 2016 refinements/improvements and I quickly stopped dead. If Mazda cam improve it this quickly and execute it so well I am willing to stay the course and get another CX-5 in 2017 which will likely be the last year before a total refresh. My Mazda dealer is great to work with, service is awesome. The new changes are worth it and then some.

At the dealership now. About to take delivery. Still have not signed on the line that is dotted though. We have done everything else, walk through checklist, introduce to service dept. etc...waiting on finance even though I have my own financing in place. I feel like I'm being set up. We'll see....

Why am I so nervous??? (puke)

I would've thought so as well, but with today's crappy exchange rate, 40000 CAD = 31900 USD

Wow definitely nice choice looks like a picture from a magazine. So how did you get such a good deal on this car? Did you know anyone at the dealership that helped you out? Did you use any tricks to get the deal? Lastly if you don't mind what was the final price and what are you paying monthly? Thanks - Conn

Looks awesome, congrats dude!
The new car looks awesome - the palm trees, green grass, and sunny sky look more incredible than the car even.... when all you've seen is 6' high snow drifts and brown snowbanks for 3 months... *sigh* it's -10F with windchill of -30F outside right now :(
Considering I just picked up my '15 CX-5 10 days ago... kind of makes me wish I had waited 2 weeks for a '16... even if it would have ended up costing me a few thousand $ more... just for the new infotainment system and the LED lighting. Maybe I should go trade it in tomorrow - think my wife would kill me for trading in a car with 900km on it?
