Who else has ordered the Microtech?

YOu must have had a mouth ful then :D

For say a 200 whp car that can outhandle any other car in its price range, then the Protege is impossible to beat. The track potential is incredible, but not the power potential.

If you want a car capable of 250 whp and it be reliable then you should not be considering the protege.

hmm i worded it kinda wierd. like the dude with the 94 hatch w/15 grand in it. he doesn't care if an sti or evo can knock the **** out of his car... he mods for the pleasure of modding not killing... i'm a lover not a fighter. :D

i might come from a different automotive background. my last car (still got it) is a 90 corolla. i entered the corolla scene when it was new. we modded for the love of working on the car and seeing our handy work. back then everything was custom. it was all about the love. we knew we would beat NOTHING out there. we weren't putting the next guy in our crosshairs.

things are different in the corolla camp now. its turning into a "must-get-horsepower" and "must kill _____" community. that is much like this one. i got here and my whole idea on car modding changed, and i'm kinda sorry it did. i felt a lot more satisfaction back when i was making my cai for my corolla and using bondo on my old grill to fab a new one. everyone rubbed off on me here. i often find myself thinking of track times, auto-x runs, horsepower, torque, and 1/4 mile times. i think i'll go back to my old mindset. i should be thinking "how cool that mod would be"

Ah, now that entirely different.
That mentality I completelt understand and it fits just fine....UNLESS this, just for the fun of it car is your daily driver and you have actual goals in mind for it.

Modding for expeirence/fun is hard animal to justify on a car your spending a large monthly payment for and a can have it off the road for any stretch of time. Not to mention, eventualy you hit a wall wall with it. At that point every next step is a large investment and it wil take several such investments to get to the next level of perfomance.

Call me a fool, but if I am not mistaken the price on the microtech that you guys are paying is $2000???? Maybe there are some major differences between the ones you are getting and the ones on this website(bear in mind that it is in Australian$, and the USD amounts are btwn 831 and 984) am I missing something really significant here?? Please advise:confused:

Plus it has the Auto Map System that no matter what PSI you run, it will keep a constant 12.5 AFR.
