Ok if you look closely at the thick rubber bead that goes around our windshield, there is a little rubber flap that extends from the bead towards the body/paint. This little rubber flap can eaisily be pulled up with your finger, credit card, etc.. This little flap that was put on our car for looks and to cover up the canyon between the windsheld and the body is what whistles/vibrates and makes all that damn noise at 80+ Mph. Mazda paid for the windshield dudes to come to my house, and they said that I could either cut it off and have it look like crap (Grand Canyon), or put a urethane caulk underneath it so it sticks to the car. I opted for the caulk. I have driven it for 2 days and up to 105mph with no noise. I got so use to the whistle I miss it now.. heh! :D

I never heard any whistling.... I guess I will have to go a little faster now... and I can explain to the cop why I am speeding too... doing some R&D for a whistle.. Ha ha

I've been well over 100 and never had any whistle. I heard it once when I was going 90 into a pretty heavy head wind.

I hit the windhsiled wipers and the noise changed as the wipers went through their motion. I also watched as the wiper blades bounced a little from the wind.

JCS, & Chris.. Thats good you guys have no noise. There was a discussion about 2-3 weeks ago about windshield noise/whistling. So just offered my fix it solution. :D

Wow after reading NC_MP3's post on reporting MP3 problems I didnt think that many people had thier windshield make noise. Well either way this is a fix.

Thanks a lot AZxMP3...but I am a guy who don't know DIY... :confused: I might print this out and get dealer done... :D appreciate it!

do you know a name brand of this adhesive silicone? i may be able to order it through work(no cost to me),,,heehee. thanks in advance AZxMP3, or whoever answers me. :D :p :) ;) :cool: :confused: :confused:

Damn yano I had the name of that stuff written down... Grrr, if I dont find it I will call the company later today ... It was a black silicon caulk that most windshield replacement places use. I do know If you get it on your paint, you let it dry and it will peel right off. Derrick, Ill get back to ya. :confused:

Derrick, the black urethane caulk is made by "SIKA". Also found that they make different " dry time " caulks. As in one dries in 30 min or one dries in an hour and so on. They windshield peeps used the hour dry on my windshield. Sorry it took 4 days for me to post this. C-YA

AZxMP3: I left my car at dealer and they checked for 2 days. In the invoice sheet it shows "Resealed Windshield." I don't know it this is the right way to fix that whistle. I talked to them but they seemed didn't understand at first...so I gave them few print outs from here...i didn't have chance to check today...maybe later I'll see if it's fixed or not...Thank You!

i usually hear the whistling on windy dayz and that pretty mucj it and if it does i probably dont here due to my loud radio being played;)

I have heard a lot of whistleing from my car, when I first got it it was VERY noticeable. Now I have to listen hard to hear it. But if I can make it consistantly make that noise, I'll use your advice. Thanks. BTW, has anyone else heard a creeking from the Steering colum? :confused:

MX hope they fixed it... I told Mazda that the sound occurs on my car between 75-100mph. On my invoice, Mazda had put that they could not drive the vehicle over 55 mph so they wrote in " inconclusive could not hear the whistle, could not drive car faster than 55 mph". But the next day the windshield peeps called and were at my house per Mazda. My Mazda dealership lead service attendents crack me up, they always look so confused when I tell them a problem with the car. Which sometimes scares me... C-Ya

Bashdfhasd...:p
<br>
I just read these posts and I can't relate more. EVERYTIME I go to Cali and hit 80mph, the noise starts. My buddy and I were going nutts cause we couldn't figure out where it was comming from.
<br>
You'll have to show me exactly what you did to fix it when we meet up Az! :cool:

BTW... I got to P5's to get in on our Arizona Mazda Affiliate (AzMA) deal.

Sweet.... I will give you a ring tomorrow, sorry it wasnt sooner I have been freakin busier than hell......
